Not really, Bilbao is a team that needs to rely on players like Llorente to be successful. Juve doesn't. He's just another cog in the machine in Turin.
Like we needed to rely on Pirlo in 11/12 to be successful? Like Barcelona relies on Messi and Madrid on Ronaldo to be sucessful? What kind of sucessful are we talking about though? A CL winner kind of successful or ?

Ogbonna had a beast game.Pirlo was good,Evra was very good.Tevez good as usual.
Vidal still MOM for me.
Scored a beauty, fought and won many balls, could have few assists if not misses by Carlitos and Morata.
Great game from the warrior, looks like he's back in the game!!

Forza Juve!!

Vidals goal though  Looked a lot better tonight. Some great work in defence and looked better going forward.
I think he belongs in the 3 not right behind the strikers.

you said you couldn't do this one. Now since TrezJuve is on fire he'll get the next Serie A game. You get the next CL.

That's fine, I was expecting TJ to stay on the league and I hit the Coppa & CL. UP to you, of course.

Sure.

So for Bilbao it was qualifying for the CL, and most years finishing higher than mid-table. For Juve success is winning the Serie A and making the knockouts of the CL.

So my argument is that Bilbao is on a lower level of football than Juventus.

At Juve the players are better than they were at Bilbao. It's a higher level of football. Llorente, while a good player, is not as special as he was in Spain. There are Tevez, Marota, Vidal, and Pogba so Juve don't need to make Llorente the focal point of the attack. That's why he doesn't get 20 crosses a game.

@Enron

But back on topic, not at that year, they weren't. We had just finished 7th and slowly working our way back from Calciopoli.

We had to rely on someone like Pirlo to bring us back and to be successful again, winning the national league. While they relied on someone like Llorente to reach the EL final and Copa Del Rey's. So in a way we weren't that different then. And we were not that higher level of Football that you talk about. Llorente alone probably scored more than all our strikers combined that year. Context is everything.

Of course we had Vidal and Marchisio in good form that were just as important to our success that year. On the same token they had Martinez and Muniain.

You mean last year? Last season's Juve wasn't better than the season before's Bilbao?

Yes, Llorente scored a lot of goals last year, yes he's a good player. But Juve's attack does not always revolve around him. Juve has other options. Better team, more options. That's my only point.

You were comparing the service he received in Spain to the service he received today. My role in this discussion was to explain why Llorente doesn't get that service for Juve. If you wanna talk about teams relying on players we can do that, but that has little to do with the discussion we're having.
