Times change, it used to be alright to tackle from behind. I think it should be allowed now too. But I also think one should be able kick messi in the head for no reason and not be punished.

Its also because the Italian media is very intertwined with clubs and clubs' owners. Berlusconi had shares all across the italian media and Moratti used to have shares in Gazetta if i remember correctly. There are also newspapers whose allegiance is clear the same way Marca is in spain.

In England, the tabloids and the TV channels are more independent from the clubs that has always been my impression. They can thus use PR tactics with journalists to get better or worse coverage, in Italy no matter what Juve do in terms of PR, Roma's newspaper will support roma and the Milanese will support the milanese. I am not very well read on the news channels in Italy (I only access sites written in english) but that has always been my impression of them and the same applies in spain.
I know a few people who cover rugby at Gazzetta and they confirmed you cannot cover football unless you support Inter or AC but Inter is preferred by management. They were instrumental in setting up Farsopoli

In the Inter forums, some say FIAT has some Gazetta shares. That isn't true, right?

I do believe that some Interminded journalists influenced Calciopoli. But what really caused it is the will of the Italian public to see conspiracies in just about anything. Italians bitch more than anyone on the face of the Earth.

And that's pretty bad because it when you have reason to whine (WC 2002, Euro 2004) no one takes you seriously anymore.

Another article from "La Gazzeta" today, for another big SCANDAL: Rizzoli, Bonucci and the case Totti(2008). Rizzoli: "I was wrong, thought of quitting"
http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie...-sbagliai-pensai-smettere-1401101819054.shtml
This was indeed funny.
They made a huge deal out of this frozen image:

"Look at Bonucci verbally and physically abusing Rizzoli". Bonucci is yelling at Rizzoli, he's about to headbutt him, while Rizzoli just stands there quietly (for 5, 10, 15 seconds?), like a small kid who did something very wrong. Vergogna! Why is he letting the Juve players do this to him? Why doesn't he give him a direct red?

Of course, in reality this is what happened, but only the photo was circulated on the net and shown on tv

How the fuck is that supposed to be a dive? Even if it can be argued that it was a clear tackle because Sandro may have gotten a touch on the ball before the player, he still hit the guy.

9 out of 10 times that's a penatly, literally no reason to complain here.

Euro 2004 wasn't that bad. 2002, yes.

He gets the ball but it's an easy one to give because he also gets some man, it's dangerous, at speed, and he tackles him with his wrong side. I didn't think it was a penalty but it's not the biggest scandal ever. Alex Sandro should have just let him try the cross.

What I find pathetic is that Juve are never allowed to feel aggrieved. I'll also make a comment about Bonucci - he can be very irritating in the big domestic games, he gets involved in lots of protests and other nonsense, stuff he doesn't do in Europe, and tbh there was little point in this game as Juve were pretty dominant. Torino deserved nothing from this game, but it was the derby and they are desperate, because they've basically been gash for months. I suppose when they lose at home to Frosinone it'll be Frosinopoli. There won't be a mention, in reality.

Who tf gives a shit bout winning this anyway, like really is it a surprise we won vs a small provincial side and we get excited over it? How do you people find joy in failing in Europe every single year but are still 100% satisfied with owning a completely dead league?? It's gotten old for me, a "5th" title in a row really means absoloutley nothing in this league, we will not be noted as a good team from this era without a champions league. 12-13, 13-14, were understandable years, but we have no excuse from this year or last, it's getting old and I'm gettin sick of it, who gives af bout serie a anymore, just fuckin stop making us look like fools in Europe where everyone actually watches
