Disappointing second half, we showed absolutely no ambition. The second goal summed it up; we won the ball in lots of room and nobody tried to give Lemina an option, in the end he had to go by himself with a great finish.

3 points though and a clean sheet, so good result.

I had honestly fallen asleep for about 5 minutes untill Lemina scored
Same heere.

We are playing carpi level shid. And pogba needs to get his thing together. What an horror display for him taking In consideration his talent. He wasnt serious.

Good goal by lemina.

Was Pereyra AM today? Because Pogba played more of an AM that game then Pereyra did today.
Atalanta was putting up shop. When we build up from deep Pogba was close to marchisio and pereyra was next to the forwards

however, once we contained them, Pogba tends to stick rather high and pereyra starts to roam around.

I cant stress the importance of pogba in the midfield enough. Just how good is that guy at receiving a pass of any kind, and turning away from several markers without losing the ball(in the midfield), and starts to build up ?
However, if he receives it in a much higher position, he starts to do his fancy pancy, wich has a very inconsistant succesrate.

Pogba, Marchisio, Lemina, is the future midfield i want to see. /care wether its with wingbacks or a TQ in front

It was on display against bayern, but also today. He can controll just about any kind of pass and get out of the direct pressing of his markets without losing it. He'll either controll it and pass, straight up pass, controll, hold off and lay off, or do a controll trick that immediatly passes his first market.

He's exceptionally good at this in the midfield. If he gets the ball higher, he'll try much more complicated stuff, wich has a tendency to fail

I noticed this as well when he just shrugged off 2-3 players off his back with a simple turn. In the 1st half iirc. He doesn't panick under pressure which is great.

Lemina
Dybala & Pereyra :sergio:
Really, you'd place Dybala there. Thought he was great, some fantastic movement around the box, led few promising counter attacks by skipping past several markers. Played in a bit deeper position today.

On technical level we weren't good enough but it's visible the team is overall tired and not in good form right now. We've had too many injuries this season and that's why we have this now. Starters are tired and the 'bench' players are out of form (Asamoah, Pereyra and lately Khedira too). The good thing is Lemina looks good so he'll give us a hand, he'll be very useful now, just needs to stay fit.

At the end of the day we won 2-0 and it's always good enough for me :p We looked decent in the 4312 (much better than flat 442) but Pereyra is far from being good yet and Khedira is more of a DM than a B2B. You really need full of energy B2B to make the 4312 work. Hopefully we'll catch a breath now that we'll be playing once a week more often than not.
