On paper, a midfield of Cuadrado-Marchisio-Pogba-A.Sandro sounds great, but it's a completely different system to what we've been playing for years. 352, 4312, 433, and Zona Mista have all feature a 3-CM combo with one regista, one B2B, and one mezzala. Gazzetta's 442 actually has that same CM combo. Pogba is only a winger on paper. He'll play the same mezzala role. Going from a 3-CM system that we've been using for years to a 2-CM one would require a lot of training time to perfect, and changing that system for only one or two games is impractical.

442 will be the defensive shape, and we used the same shape with Pogba at LM in some games in 1st half of the season. When we have the ball, the shape will be either Zona Mista or 433. Pogba will play his usual attacking CM role and move inward and up. Evra will be the player responsible for providing width on the left (Alex Sandro instead would be perfect for that LWB role). Morata and Pogba will help him and show at the flank at times (Pogba already does that). Licht will stay back or play his usual FB role depending on whether it's Zona Mista or 433 when we have the ball.

Catenaccio: strict man to man marking + sweeper (libero) to pick up any loose balls or to double mark when needed.

Zona mista - zonal marking as primary system + use of libero (holding mf).

Napoli is a tough place for a coach and players like Roma is. Sarri completely turned the defense around from last season and has gotten the best out of every single player. Higuain credits Sarri for his incredible form. Showed his flexibility too when he changed from 4312 to 433, switched Hysaj to right and started Jorginho when he saw things weren't working out. Napoli struggled for a short period of time with their new coach at the start of the season while Sarri was figuring things out, and they've been incredibly consistent ever since.

Sarri has made some key tactical changes in napoli, biggest one imo is moving hamsik into a 3 man midfield and involving him in 3 phases (build up/creat/attack) of the game.

They consolidate possession much better now, his link up with insigne is excellent and he makes runs into the box which makes him a goal threat.

Wrong. We scored in Naples, they didn't score in Turin. Like in CL on aggregate. Away goals.

He's right. If we win 1-0, goal difference vs napoli will be 0 (1-2/1-0). Napoli will lead the table on the basis of higher GD in the league.

If we win by 2 goals margin then we will be ahead on the basis of higher GD (+1) vs napoli.

Formation and tactical system are the same thing. Unless you meant tactical idea/concept.

There are formations for all of Zona Mista, Catenaccio, and Total Football. Total Football is also a tactical concept.

Total Football isn't based on positional play. It's based on everyone being able to attack and defend and assume other positions as they see fit.

Zona Mista has a specific shape, and each player has a specific position and a specific role. Zona Mista also used a lot of man-marking. There have been variations of Zona Mista as with most other tactics.

British media made "catenaccio" into a tactical concept and a synonym for defensive football when it isn't one. Catenaccio was a specific tactic.

Been a while since we had a game like this. Little worried that we're not going to be playing the usual formation, but this isn't the first time.

We need more than just three points here, it needs to also be convincing. Otherwise and I fear they'll feel encouraged that they can still close the gap on us.

I don't assume this as a experts viewpoint.Why for example as our former legend don't gave an idea what is his opinion what we should do in order to beat them instead advising Napoli what to do ?
