it looks like an important crossroad for them. inzaghi left, a few key players (acerbi, mkhi, calhanoglu especially) started to show their age lately, they want to refinance their bond (and that's going to be expensive), and they have a huge debt to handle too. on the other hand, henrique looks like a decent purchase, and some key players (bastoni, martinez, thuram, barella, dumfries, ...) are still in their prime, so they still have the best starting 11. again, it looks more like a crossroad than an immediate downfall to me

btw it's both funny and completely normal at the same time how their 2020-2025 dynasty only resulted in 2 scudetti. juve's 9-year run wasn't normal at all. people have no idea how difficult it is to replicate

Nah Chivu is a lot safer than Pirlo was. Chivu was Inter's youth coach almost since he retired, and made Parma great in that short stint.

Motta is less risky of course, but Chivu has way more experience than Pirlo did.

He has good potential as a coach however in my opinion he will ultimately fail, or at least surely won’t overachieve or make them any better than they’ve been under Inzaghi, at best he’ll manage to comfortably secure them a UCL place in my opinion, but otherwise it’s only downwards for them as a club from here on, and they chose Chivu specifically because they are in the middle of a financial crisis and a mafia scandal, whereas Chivu is cheap, knows the club well, and is a good profile to handle the inevitable crisis, but it will likely not translate into any notable success.

they did with figc for some stuff like illegal contacts. their civil case is yet to start though, and it might take years to go to trial

(look at the prisma investigation which was about jj's plusvalenze and covid related wage postponement agreements. figc tribunal already docked points, gave back points and docked points again, handled bans and fines years ago. the civil court is yet to start a case, the next hearing is scheduled for this summer iirc, and agnelli, nedved, arrivabene, paratici & co are still risking further consequences.)
