Wait, LFC spend 500m ?!
They spent 480mln and they sold players for 219mln. So it's 261mln roughly

Arsenal spent 293mln but sold for only 10mln

Chelsea spent 382 but sold for 332mln

City spent 206 but sold for 70mln

United spent 250 but sold for 75mln

----

For a comparison:

Juve spent 137mln and sold for 84mln.

Napoli spent 115mln and sold for 126mln

Milan spent for 164mln and sold for 170mln

Inter spent 92mln and sold for 48mln

Roma spent 63mln and sold for 50mln

Although, have in mind that these numbers are taking into account loans paid this year, but not the whole deal, even if it's loan with obligation. So the number in some (many) cases is higher. For example, Kiwior accounts for 2mln sale, but he's on obligation for 17mln extra.

But yeah, bottom line, this is fucking crazy.

Huijssen is the only one that go away though.

Rovella and Soule probably wouldn't even start in this current Juventus. I think the price we sold them for was fair.
rovella is debatable, guy's not bad at all. not a new pirlo of course, he still does the basics (passing especially) well, and he defends better than locatelli. if jj suggested a loca-rovella swap, lazio would refuse

anyway, this is a question of strategy. i get the argument that selling every youngster might not be the best idea, and i agree. we could have kept most of these youngsters, waited them to grow and probably have a similarly strong, maybe even stronger, definitely cheaper team, and most probably lose a cl place here and there. that's what jj can't afford right now

what jj needs to change is not only not sell the huijsens, especially not for so low fees, but not to purchase overly expensive mercenaries who are only slightly better than our 19 year old players. easier said than done, i know

First of all, what should really change is how football club finances are accounted. Current system encourages or sometime even forces the clubs to sacrifice home grown talents and buy from other clubs. This plusvalenza and amoritzation thing makes the whole market operate like this, its not only Juventus. Clubs will always go for easy money, because most of them, like us, always have the FFP issues and selling HG player fixes this issue easily, maybe only termporary but still it does.

i don't see a problem with that. it's easy money and it is the definition of a sustainable model. what should real madrid, benfica, ajax or barcelona do? close or downsize their otherwise extremely successful academies, because they only have 1-2 slots per season for their up and coming talents? do you know how many ex academy players real madrid have in the current top 5 leagues? i should look up the exact number, if i recall correctly it's well above 150 lol

nah, it's fine to sell your youngsters. accounting is fine too. ifrs is a well working, relatively easy system to learn and live with.

what's not fine is to sell huijsen.
and sell huijsen below his real value.
and sell huijsen below his real value and buy a more expensive, worse replacement.
