Does the pre-knockout stage count? This year it's a different format. The best 8 of the 36 teams who will take part in the CL will qualify automatically for the round of 16, while teams placed 9-24 in the group stage will play in the pre-knockouts.
Yeah for sure. Just making an elimination round would be a pretty successful CL run in my opinion.

If they lose to a shit club or get completely embarrassed by someone, it will leave a sour taste in our mouths I'm sure --- but expectations just cant be that high.

My hopes and expectations for this year are similar to last year.

Finishing top 4 and making the KO stage of the Champions League would be a perfectly acceptable season for us.

I have zero expectations of winning the league or making any kind of run in the CL, and that's ok --- we're not there yet.

A lot of how people actually feel about the season will be how we play and what we look like. If it's similar to last year, where it's ugly and boring, fans wont be happy.
Inter is way ahead of us, they've kept the core team with adding some quality players. Milan and Roma have improved and boost the strength of their squads vastly. Napoli with only one competition to focus on and so far they have been managed to keep Osimhen. My concern is the CL, i hope Motta has enough ball to save us from being humiliated by giant teams.
