Don't they allways play it in Saudi Arabia, for less money? (3m), Hungary close to home and better pay.

But why is the president of a country involved sports deal lol. Would assumed would been a lower level tourism marketing matter.

i'm not judging, just stating the fact that you don't know this country apparently. he personally picks the nt coach, he suggests players to be called (rossi has balls to have rejected dzsudzsák multiple times lol), he ordered many stadiums to be built around the country, one of them was built literally next to his house (oh yes), he often uses private jets to go to matches, it's because of him that the club of his hometown (or rather village) bears puskás' name despite puskás' past not being related to that village in any way or form, one of the most important youth academies also resides in his native village, etc

i could go on for days, bottom line is that his image relies heavily on the fact that he's a football fan

I’m curious about what the “policy issues” are that would prevent this.

why would hungary want to host the Italian supercup any ways, how is this a marketable move for Serie A? It would be like England's charity shield played in Iran. God there are some right fucking idiots who decide these things

hungarians don't want to participate in eu's obligatory faggotry activities.
and an italy led by their (far) right is a pretty close match in that regard

i suggest you to read the first line of that tweet (emphasis on 8)

I'm talking about the marketability of the league itself, doesn't look great to host an Italian super cup in a country that isn't going to add value to the product especially if the match is held in some tiny stadium like some of the recent super cups abroad were, it's not like playing it in the US or China for example.

The same logic about marketability applies to hosting the match in some oil country.

But the bottom line is always the $ amount. See LIV for example.

Until the EU cuts their funding.
After he just pouts and goes to the back of the class with the uncool kids where he belongs.

BTW when I first made my vacation to Antalya(2017) your lira was almost on parity with my currency. 1 Turkish lira = 1.2 Romanian leu.
Now 1 Turkish lira = 0.28 Romanian leu.
It's just goes to show how good Erdogan has been running the country.

Your currency is so good that I have Amazon prime video in Turkish lira.
8 Turkish lira = 2 Romanian Leu

Amazon prime in România 14 Romanian leu = 56 Turkish lira.

I hope you get rid of him quick.

Sorry for the off-topic.

So a little dick dictator wannabe? I knew he was seen as democratic despot in rest of Europe. But didn't know he did petty megomaniac stuff like this in smaller scale.

exactly. to put it into perspective, my stepfather just called me to tell me that orbán wants to bring the italian super cup to hungary. i told him i read the news in the italian press. he asked whether i knew what stadium would host the match. i said i suppose the national stadium at budapest. he said i was wrong, orbán wanted the match to be held at felcsút, in the stadium next to his very own family house :baus:

that is the stadium btw: https://www.pfla.hu/index.php/eredm...14_2002/2016-06-11/3471?q=static/pancho_arena

it's a beautiful little stadium with a moderate capacity (3500 seats), not the ideal venue for an italian supercup. but at least it's close to orbán's back yard. :baus:

Haha he must be taking the piss. No one can be this deluded. If that fits the requirement then super cup should be played in villa perosa, just next to Agnelli family country resort.
