That’s my point. The only reason he was available for a ~40-50 mil fee is because of that risk. If he stays healthy and plays big minutes for a second season in a row, he isn’t being sold near that cheap. We didn’t get Vlahovic cheap even though he refused to sign an extension, and the same will probably happen with Zaniolo.
Given the decade-long potential for a Zaniolo-Vlahovic-Chiesa trio, I personally think it was a risk worth taking for under 50 mil. I understand if people don’t because of injuries. But not the silliness about him not being good enough.
Not sure how much of that I saw, myself.
I want him here if his fitness could be guaranteed, but it can't and we haven't got 50m to gamble with this summer, I suppose. If he ends up a top guy who grew up watching Juve it would hurt that he wasn't playing here. We already missed out on Verratti, but that one hurts more because he would have been so cheap.
I say Zaniolo can make his dream move happen by firstly staying fit, and secondly not renewing with Roma, eventually forcing his way out.
