It's a damn shame that Serie A is about lose two of it's most promising CB's in Skriniar and De Ligt. Not to mention Koulibaly.

With these departures, there are barely any WC CB's in the league now.

Nothing new, last summer, out of its best 11 of the season players elected for that team, 8 of them left the league. In same summer. A 9th left this summer (Kessie). Only the italians remain lol (Chiesa, Barella, Bastoni). Tho Donna left too, so that's not allways a gurantee either.

So top quality will keep leaving this league in droves every summer, with little of it coming back in. The funds and allure of the league is firmly in 3rd tier level now.

Can't be the third tier and probably won't ever fall that far.

Tier 1: English Premier League, La Liga (maybe)
Tier 2: Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga (probably)
Tier 3: Ligue 1, Portugal Premeira Liga
Tier 4: Eredivisie, Austrian Football Bundesliga, Scottish Premier League, Ekstraklasa
Tier 5: Russian, Ukraine, Belgium, Greece, Turkiye
Tier 6: Serbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden,
Tier 7: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Belarus

It will take ALOT to fall into that third tier, the gap between the two is just insanely massive.

It's the state of the league. Serie A is there to shape players and eventually buy ex world class player that are fading stars. But during their prime they go to either Spain or England. Unfortunaltely I don't see anything changing there in the near future

League's dying faster than ever and it's fucking depressing.
Stars are leaving the sinking ship and without stars the league will not grow.
Just this mercato:
-Dybala, Chiellini, Morata, Kessie, Vidal, Perisic, Koulibaly, Insigne, De Ligt (?)

Who did we get in return?
-two times Chelsea flop Lukaku, 34yo Di Maria, some tiktoker Pogba, 33yo Matić, Jović

Calshio is always on its way down when JJ is down and on the way up when JJ is up

Quite fascinating how vital JJ is for Italy

If only it wasn't such a zoo filled with yelling demented geezer types

I see what you guys are saying, the exodus of talent is not a good sign.

But still the league looks stronger than any other season I can think of in the last 10 years or so

Milan and Inter look strong

Our rebuild is looking good and I feel we can return to our former position if things continue in this direction

Roma have made some good transfers, Lazio have retained most of their stars

Fiorentina might be on the right track

Napoli is Napoli and Atalanta will continue to punch above it's weight

And on top of that Serie A has pretty strong collection of coaches considering the talent at disposal

Allegri, Mourinho, Sarri, Inzaghi, Spaletti, Gasperini, Pioli

The first three stand out but the rest are very good in their own right

So overall things really are not that bad imo

If you take Juventus out of the 2010's, then the league back then was dog compared to today

I’d really like to see us trying something like this at least from time to time… set pieces used to be something that guaranteed us a certain number of points each season, nowadays we don’t seem to have anyone capable of actually scoring direct fk’s anymore so we might just as well start trying some new things to create an advantage out of it.

If they do it's a smart move financially. Italians will come cheaper with preferring to play in their homeland. Juve beat Inter for Bremer so no reason we shouldn't be able to get homegrown talent joining the premier team in the league. Always need quality 1st team foreigners but prioritize the backups being Italian. I do agree with @Afghan_juventus about Serie A having some quality coaches presently enhancing the league image.

Now we just need Lukaku to be Lukaku with out Conte and Gosens to not work in other system than Atalantas for a total collapse of Inter. I believe in the end they will sell one of their key players, probably Skriniar.
