The Venezia shirts ar freaking gorgeous and they have a young and good squad I think. The shirts :sheik:

Empoli can be a surprise this season. Easily topped Serie B last year.
Talents to watch:

Bajrami - position 10/attacker - 22 years - fantastic dribbler and he has a good shot, but needs to work on his vision/egoism.

Fabiano Parisi - position left back - 20 years - pacey left-back with technical abilities, sometimes he has dribbles like Spinazzola and that is rare for an Italian back.

Samuele Ricci - position CM/CDM - 19 years - Hands down their best talent, key players since he is 17 years old. Standard player in the Italian U-15-17-19 etc. Arsenal and Leicester pushed really hard for him. His speciality are long balls and he hold balls like Arthur, close to the feet and strong with a short turn away from the opponent. His dribbling is also good, his overall playstyle is a little bit like Sensi. He will be 1000% sold next season to another club.

Crazy idea, but i expect Inter’s title defense to be worse than Liverpool’s. Actually wont be surprised if they end outside of the top 4. Expect Roma to take their place.

So I've been reviewing the clubs in Serie A for awhile now and I have to say the fall of Inter could be stunning. You might raise an eyebrow at me putting them at 10th to finish the year but to put it into perspective think about this possible starting elevent for Genoa.

Dzeko and Pinamonti up front to start with Martinez having muscular problems and Sanchez on the bench. This is no stunning attack, maybe Dzeko 2-3 years ago but this is a very sad attack in my opinion. Potential to poach goals but very little potential to create stunning chances. Martinez obviously alongside Dzeko improves things but Dzeko is no Lukaku.

Midfield of Calhanoglu, Brozovic, and Barella. Good but not great, the strengths and weaknesses of each player are well-known and while there is potential for moments of class from all three, none of them are worldbeaters or elite level talent. Barella had that possibility but I think even that is gone now. Dependable but not elite. On the bench will be Vidal, Vecino, Sensi, and Perisic with Gagliardini and Eriksen out hurt.

Wingbacks will be Dimarco and Dumfries. What a fall from grace this group will have. From Hakimi to Dumfries, this group has lost a lot in attack and gained nothing in defense. Lazaro, Perisic, D'Ambrosio, Darmian, Kolarov isn't the group of names to inspire confidence in the wide play for this team. And with three at the back, the strength of attacking MUST come from wideplay and magic from the midfield. The midfield doesn't have the consistent magic player and this wideplay will be embarrassingly average.

Three at the back also has the strength of the club in terms of quality. Skriniar, Bastoni, de Vrij will be the starting three whenever healthy with Ranocchia, Kolarov to come off the bench and spot start. But the depth is VERY shakey and that is worrisome for a backline that has struggled the last few years with injuries. Any one of those starters go down and you've either got the brainless (Ranocchia) or a converted fullback playing as your third.

Goaltending sees Handanovic who is no longer considered to be worldclass but is good. His best days are gone and he has struggled the last few seasons. Crazy how at 37 he looks worse than Buffon at 43.

This team has replaced strength with average almost across the entire board. A dire situation that might get worse if the sale of more players goes through. If Martinez leaves, consider this club midtable at best for the next year or two possibly. They cannot keep a hold of their centerbacks if anybody of any size in Europe comes calling. Skriniar or Bastoni to an EPL or Bundesliga club (Skriniar to Germany specifically) could be a very really possibility in my opinion within the next 12-18 months.

Ik think Satriano Will play instead of Pinamonti because het is more like Martinez and had an really good friendlies with a couple of goals.

Venezia will end above Salernitana
I think Satriano is a little young and they want to give Pinamonti his chance to show if he's worth keeping or moving on from. Also, both are closer to Martinez than Lukaku in terms of holding up play, poaching goals, etc, a role for Dzeko in a two striker formation. Satriano has time to grow as he's just been brought from their Primavera whereas this is make or move on for Pinamonti. But I also understand your thinking on the matter.

As far as Venezia over Salernitana, I think the two clubs have had almost opposite transfer markets in preparation for Serie A.

Venezia has brought in 4-6 players to strengthen their squad with the highlights being Caldara (what a fall from grace for this man), Busio,Tessmann, and Sigurdsson. But they've gone completely with younger players for the most part in their transfers as opposed to Salernitana who has gone for established, veterans with Serie A experience as well as some youth that also has a lot of experience playing. I'm a little old fashioned in that I think having the more experienced core in Salertinana, while not strong enough to keep them up, will allow them to avoid being bottom of the table. Both should still get relegated imo but we'll see. That's why they play the games.

If Seria A want to go further, they only need to support the club to build their own stadium. The local government/province need to support the club by providing the land needed for stadium with special price for the club

It is so ironic when Venezia only have 7000+ seaters in their stadium while their city is one of the most visited city in tourism
If they can get around 50k stadium, then they can include the calcio as part of their tourism

Wishful thinking bro. Inzaghi is a good coach and I expect them to end the season second.
They are going to push us hard, at least until the winter break.

With what players?
You think that merda side was so dependent on lukaku and hakimi?
Their backbone is their midfield and defence + hamdanovici (underrated).
They have more than enough quality to keep competing at a higher level.
Although inzaghi is a downgrade to cunte, he is not that far off in terms of style (plays 3 5 2) which merda players are already accoustemed with.
I don't expect them to go the Meelan way anytime soon, not with beppe around anyway.

Conte has a track record for managing and winning titles. Leagues atleast.

Inzaghi has done well at Lazio but there is his first shot at a team that has genuine aspirations to win titles. The pressure will be huge. Remains to be seen if he is up to it.

Lukaku and Hakimi were two of their best players season, and that will hurt them big time. Sure they have quality in other areas, but still.

Their backbone was Lukaku putting up a player of the season performance.

I wouldn't call Handanovic underrated. If anything, he's overrated as he's always been talked about as some high quality keeper and been for the most part above average.

Their defense is definitely the most quality of their squad, but the midfield ended last season on a low looking very average and it hasn't gotten better. It's gotten worse. Nevermind that their backline is very thin, the wingbacks have gotten much worse losing Hakimi.

Inzaghi is definitely a downgrade but he's fine overall. But he's never won much and he's a safe coach. He doesn't have SMS in midfield. No midfielder on Inter is SMS level. Barella showed strength but also showed his limits. Bozo isn't the player he once was and its been clear for almost a year now. Sensi has his limits. If anything, the quality of Inter's midfield is the quantity of it. They have a lot of average midfielders.

Vecino, Sensi, Barella, Gags, Agoume, Brozovic, Calhanoglu.

This might be the fifth worst midfield in Serie A behind Juve, Milan, Lazio, Roma. Might/maybe. It'll be interesting to see.

Backline, no arguments. One of the best in Serie A. I worry about their depth because playing a back three with ZERO depth is going to be hard when the fixtures start coming. They are one injury away from starting Kolarov at CB. And this is a Kolarov who is 3-4 years past his okay days.
