Marotta has spent 38m for Nainggolan, 27m for Eriksen, 22.5m for Lazaro, 27m for Sensi, apart from this all these strange deals like Vanheusden 15m, Radu 10m, Salcedo 10m etc. Inter was build on the mix of signing outcast players and Conte who knows how to make them work. Imagine the outcry if Juventus would have signed Vidal and Sanches with 7m salary for both, Darmian, D'ambrosio or Sensi and Barella for over 70m, this forum would have erupted, every single player from that list would have been called "finished" "italian jabroni" and so on.

Who was Chiesa and who were Sensi and Barella? Juventus bought a ready to go player while Inter made a bet on Sensi and Barella and overpaid huge amount of money for them and in Barella's case it paid off.
He was bought for 85m + 12m salary that he doesn't justify, he barely progressed in 3 years, because of his transfer we had to lose Spina and Cancelo and god knows who else. He often plays worse than 38 years old Chiellini and his brainfarts with his poor positioning are unexplainable. Signing 19 years old central defender for 85 millions is an incredibly stupid business. And now his situation becomes more complicated - he has 2 years left on his contract and no one in their life will buy him for 150 million compensation that is prescribed in the contract which means that Juventus has to negotiate prolongation of his contract or sell him next summer, because in the summer of 2023 his price will drop a lot, no one is going to pay huge amount of money for a player who has 1 year left on his contract.
