I'd say no, it's not the placement of the foul thats up to interpretation (like in Zakarias case, thats easily a clear and obvious error) but the foul itself and it was a softie. imo if he gave a pen right away it'd have been a correct decision (as there was contact), but it wasn't the correct decision to use var for that. half an hour earlier the same "not a clear and obvious error" rule was used for the Lautaros high kick in Locas face, the ref had already given a yellow and VAR (correctly) couldn't intervene. the ref easily could've given a red there and that would've been a correct decision, but since a yellow card wasn't a clear and obvious error the decision stood. however the size of the error for Lautaro's kick and Morata's pen is pretty much the same, I don't see how you can call one an obvious error and the other not an obvious error.

for the record, I'm not a fan of the VAR rules as they are written, IMO the refs need assistance whenever they're fucking up a serious incident in the game and the subjectivity involved in interpreting "clear and obvious error" robs them of that chance in favor of some "keeping the spirit of the game" bullshit. however the double standards with which current rules are applied in Serie A suck.

Well.. if you agree Morata's foul was worth of a penal..
Cause that is a serious incident, same as Zakaria's

I would actually thought the ref would give the Zakaria incident as penal as I am not how it was decided outside the penal area, how would you decide if the foul started in the penal or it was a contact in area and then a foul outside.. it is just stupid to give both as penal.. but as you gave the first one.. he should have given the second.

In any case, Inter did not deserve a win let alone getting the enthusiasm that will follow.


I hope we can build on the first half performance and attitude.. second we did not lack the attitude but clearly lacked legs and bench/skills

That is why var is there to inform to irrati that a foul happened inside the penalty box not outside but I am sure as couple of weeks back var referee massa said bastoni got the ball against belotti the same thing happened here.

And if you like at the lineup, that backline was hardly impressive. I never liked Iuliano, and Dimas was hardly a world class fullback. Porrini was a meme footballer. However, Jugovic, Zidane and Di Livio with Tacchinardi, and a front two of Boksic and Vieri. Oh my! This was all with Del Piero out injured, and we hadn't even brought in Davids yet.

Ironically, the goal of the game was scored by that rat-faced Milanista fucker Simone.
