Let’s be real, it’s an irrelevant game for us.

Our main rival for the rest of the season is Atalanta. Let’s just secure top 4. And then if BiniBene have another amazing mercato once again, then we can talk about a proper title challenge for next season. Maybe even become favourites again.

They have one game in hand.
True

But it`s not easy to play under pressure, knowing the fact that they have not one but two teams breathing their neck.
The got couple of lucky last minute wins this season. Comparing to the last season the gap has been reduced. More like, there is no gap.

It`s a must win for them against Napoli next week. Let`s see if they can withstand the pressure

:agree:

It would only have mattered if Inter had beaten Milan and given us a chance to close the gap to them. We aren't winning the title, even getting in the top 4 is a big ask.

On paper we should be able to mount a series of wins and eventually fighting for the Scudetto.
Reality - It doesnt work like that - Players gel and its not as our team played great before their arrivals.
Top 4 is really the only objective for this year but I wouldnt say only Atalanta. Napoli didnt impress me much. They started well but now they are not as good as their start (even if they probably win their next game.).
I think its Inter,Milan, 3rd 4th 5th - Juve Atalanta and Napoli are all in the running for these spots.

Potentially 8 point lead if we win tomorrow but still Inter have a game in hand. So it is meaningless If inter drop points Milan and napoli will overtake them as we are too far back. But it will be interesting to see if we can solve our goalscoring woes with Vlahovic to get into the top four.

Inzaghi:"Alexis Sanchez was barged off the pitch practically by Giroud on the goal, but the fact remains if we had taken more of our chances, it wouldn’t have mattered. It’s not a problem, it was a challenge. If you think it’s fair, that’s fine. It’s not the issue, the lads lost their focus a bit after that incident and that’s the problem. The referee let a lot go.”

win every single game, win the scudetto. it is possible.
That puts us at 87 points. Inter has picked up 2.3 points per match this season and is on pace for 88 points right now. Even if we win every match we’d need help.

And :lol2: if you think this squad is good enough to win every single match for the rest of the season. I’m sure you shall say it’s all Allegri’s fault. And probably throw Beppe in there too. Because Turk gonna Turk.

I personally always look at the gap to the leader, even now. Let's try to win, and top4 will be consolation prize.

Massive ask indeed. We have supposedly one of the best coaches in the world, + added one of the best strikers in the world to the squad and its a big ask to overcome a 1 point gap with freaking Atalanta

We truly have become Arsenal.

The forum nincompoop strikes again. Everyone on this forum expects top 4 this year, and expects us to go for scudetto next year with our new signings and a healthy Chiesa.

But you go ahead and keep banging on the retard drum about how disgraceful it would be to not finish top 2 this year. Yeah. Having realistic expectations about this 2/3rd finished season is really being Arsenal.

Ahhh the angry forum incel comes in with an insult. You are truly a self-parody.

The great irony in all of this is that your low expectations are very revealing.

Either you really think Allegri is a poor coach that we cant expect anything more from him than Pirlo, Pioli and Spaletti. Or you find it so difficult to admit that he is failing, so you'll set the bar so low that any performance counts as success. If we were 7th or 8th now you'd be counting Europa League spots as a success.

Most likely 4 points to Atalanta who have a game in hand. Let's not pretend that they aren't a good team, they have been consistent for a few years now.

We've added a top striker but we still have no creative players on the left and one midfielder capable of playing a pass. We are playing catch up and our form is decent but just because we signed Vlahovic doesn't mean that the squad doesn't have issues.

Ofc we still have issues. But what about Atlanta's squad issues? Napoli's? Milan's?

You are implying that until we have no squad issues, we shouldn't expect to compete against these minnows.

Isn't the whole idea behind hiring a top coach at a massive salary is to punch above our weight and overcome teams with better squads? Beating Atalanta is not even punching side-ways, our bench is better than their starting 11 ffs.
