Balotelli is a bit of a tragic dunce mentally (he makes 100% sense in this case tho, was right in everything he said), but you cant be serious with this nonsense. He has squandered his career on pure stupid mentality and approach and was never consistent enough. But he isnt an anonymous player because between 17 to like 22, he was a very explosive top talent. I used to genuinely fear playing against him in his early Inter years. Big game player, tho not a week to week player. Remained a wasted talent instead of a top player he had the potential to be.
How many players have shone as a youngster before disappointing? He was ahead of the others because physically he had the body of an adult. He started with a dominating team in a moribund Serie A, which he allowed him to to make himself look better, (remember that at the time Santon is considered as a wunderkind). The rest of his career after he's 20 was disappointment and failure, going from club to club ever more mediocre: glory hunter City- Loserpool (from Suarez to Balotelli:lol2:)- a broke Milan of the great El sharawy (2nd player most overated)-Nice in a poor ligue 1- Brescia, normally next step is Serie B at Salernitana.

He can thank Mino for oversold him (however when the scam is discovered we can't do miracles forever). I must say that I never understood what his strengths: speed ? Intelligence (lol)? Technical ? Stamina and workrate (lol)? Top scorer? He's good penalty taker (think half of his goals with Milan must be penalty).

At international level he benefited being the favourite of Prandelli and Mancini and the lack of talent in Italy. From Euro 2012, his moment of glory we retained his 2 goals against Germany and his celebration that overshadowed his average performances during the competition while it is thanks to a brilliant performance of the midfielders and the Italian defense that Italy qualified until Final.

Even players who have played with him find him overated:

by Football Italia11 minutes ago
A further four Sampdoria players have tested positive for the Coronavirus, following Manolo Gabbiadini’s admission yesterday that he has the virus.
Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Twitter that Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonino La Gumina and Morten Thorsby have all tested positive for the virus.

This follows Gabbiadini’s admission yesterday that the striker also has the Coronavirus.
Juventus’ Daniele Rugani is also suffering from COVID-19, as the disease is otherwise known as, and the Juventus squad are in quarantine.
Serie A has been suspended until April 3.

I think his strengths were that he was average to above in almost everything except work rate. And we have to remember that 10-12 years ago, his skill set for a #9 was not that common. It is much more common nowadays that the #9 has to be a more complete player.

But I think Balotelli was not actually complete because he was never a true #9 in terms of instincts. Hunger to get in the box, movement, etc. When he got the ball he wanted to just play around with it.

I think in terms of physical and technical tools, there was hope. In terms of mentality, none. But not just emotional mentality but footballing.

Balotelli: 'They waited for Juve...'
by Football Italia1 hour ago
Brescia forward Mario Balotelli joked “they waited for Juventus to go top” before suspending Serie A due to the Coronavirus outbreak and doubts play will resume on April 3.
Currently on lockdown along with everyone else in Italy, SuperMario spent his time chatting with friend Er Faina on a live Instagram broadcast.

“We’ve got to stay home, guys, people don’t understand the severity of what is happening,” said the Italy international.
“I really miss football, but we have to stay home. If you don’t, I’ll go out there and give you a slap!”
Balotelli also joked about the fact some more Week 26 games were played behind closed doors before Serie A was ordered to halt.
“They had to wait until Juventus went back on top before stopping the league,” he laughed.
“In all honesty, I hope Serie A doesn’t start up again until there are no more cases. I got so angry at the start when I urged everyone to stop and people insulted me for it. Maybe now they’ve finally realised the situation.
“The trouble is that when in Switzerland they say ‘don’t leave your homes,’ people don’t leave. In Italy, that is not the case. If we don’t sort ourselves out soon, we’ll reach 2021 and still have Coronavirus.”
If the season does not conclude regularly, then there are several options on how to proceed, including play-offs for promotion and relegation, freezing the table as it stands or refusing to assign the Scudetto at all.
“My idea would be not to give anyone victory, don’t relegate anyone, so it’d be fair in my view to promote two Serie B teams and play Serie A next season with 22 clubs.
“Either way, I really doubt we’re going to start playing again by April 3.”
The fact that they knew we would need only the Inter game to be back on top :touched:

Play-offs rejected by the clubs?
I mean if they would take the current points and then just make a 4-team tournament - I would accept that. But starting from 0? No way Jose.

Plus if they will be allowed to play, they have an extra month cuz of the EUROs cancelled - why not finish the season.
