You’re right. For some reason I thought it was CL, but it was the Bayern drubbing. He was still smug through the summer with keeping Poch and not selling Eriksen plus signing Ndombele. That’s worked out real well for them.

Poch = fired, replaced by Mourinho
Eriksen = sold midseason for peanuts
Ndombele = always injured and basically called a flop by his new manager, Mourinho

Maybe it was too hard for him to digest being beaten that much from a German side, I just remember him being a real prem smug with everything to it.

Seems Prem fans have the hardest time after they're beaten by some BL sides mostly because they feel so superior in general towards other leagues and look down on German football in many cases.
