Milan has hired so many lacklustre managers since they fired Max. It's astounding that they hired these amateurs. Seedorf, Pippo Inzaghi, Mihajlovic, Brocchi and freaking Gattuso. So if I recall correctly, Gattuso stayed because his results weren't completely deplorable late last season?

Their squad is not bad. If they had any brains they would dump Gattuso and hire Conte. CL is not an unrealistic target for them with a competent manager.

I think there is more to it then that with the Milan clubs.

I think they lack a strong, stable management situation w/ a rotating door of shady foreign inventors. They lack a long term plan and vision ala what has been implemented by Agnelli, Marotta and co to such great success here.

They may have bought a few talented individuals but no real solid core in the squad either.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Think he would rather try another stint at a rich club like Madrid or PSG, he is a very ambitious guy and I'm not sure there is a club in Italy (outside of Juve) that matches his ambitions.

Their squad is very top heavy. Terrible midfield, WC striker, a very good winger in Suso, average fullbacks and one potential WC CB. They are lacking a lot, but you are right, they are clowns for constantly hiring their ex-legends as managers. They actually have Gattuso a contract extension last season lmao. Who’s next, Ambrosini?

Dont shoot me just yet, but Gatusso surely isn't as terrible as half of Tuz propose does he?
I mean after he take milan role, milan 2nd half season is on good form. 3rd only after Juve and Napoli.

He is utterly clueless nowonder he didn't last in Switzerland, Greece and palermo. He's had ample time and in fairness his 'passion' helped at first but it was never going to last. I can't help but wonder which ex Milan player will take the job next, has dida got a coaching badge? I'm sure half of the 2005-07 teams have already managed or is at least part of the management side now like maldini And abbiatti

I think Gattuso did better with Milan last season than pretty much everyone expected, so we have to give him credit for it, it also got him the contract extension. I was impressed with the physical and attitude change he managed to achieve in a short space of time after taking over Montella, however, as soon as Milan went really close to battling for TOP4 in mid March, the team crumbled with a run of 4 points in 6 matches and pretty much destroyed their chances.

And it's happening again this season, the pressure is on and they can't deal with it. If I was Leonardo I'd probably inquire about the availability of other coaches, Gattuso may have progressed since his time at Palermo, but he's hardly convincing that he's able to deliver a CL spot for Milan
