If this Ronaldo things closes and he comes, how the hell are the other teams in Italy going to try and close the gap?
napoli will get cavani, and that would be all.

If the Ricketts family ends up buying AC Milan, they will be back on the right path in no time.

They know what they are doing.
that's italy, and current milan is an unprofessional shithole. i reckon that in case marotta and paratici moved to milano, and had all the money in the world, plus the ffp to respect, they'd still need like 4-5 years to create a top2 contender team.

Being on the right path for Milan doesn't necessarily mean that they are scudetto challengers within a couple of years. They would have a solid ownership and financial base. That is what I am getting at. And they would hire the right people.

I don't know much about the Ricketts or what they've done to american franchises but is he really all that? I mean running a football club requires an understanding of the sport and how it operates which may be the unknown to him

I don't believe Ancelotti will manage to have a good league season with Napoli, will probably finish CL places, but I don't expect trouble from them in regards to Scudetto. Maybe Roma or Inter with their reinforcements can put up some kind of fight, but I somehow doubt we'll be challenged if we don't fuck it up ourselves and finish around 90 points.

call me ignorant, if you asked me to name baseball teams I'd say the NY yankees or the boston red sox, are the cubs a successful franchise?
They’re in Chicago so they’re a mainstay and one of the most popular teams in the country. I don’t think they’ve won anything recently as I couldn’t care less about baseball.

They are now. They hadn't won a championship in over 100 years before they arrived. The acquired the club in 2009 and in 2016 they won the World Series. The Cubs were the longest running joke in baseball because of their post season futility.

These guys are patient, and believe in player development and international scouting to maintain their current state of excellence. They would be very good owners for Milan.

One more thing @Badass Dybala

In 2010 the club was valued at 720 million dollars

Last year it was valued at 2.7 billion dollars.

The Ricketts family are very smart people.

Have you noticed how the value of NBA teams has shot up too the past 10 years or so? I’m thinking it has to do with the internet and games being available to watch anywhere around the works.

Thanks and @ALC

So basically lets hope the Ricketts don't take over
No problemo

Winning certainly helps too. The Cubs have averaged around 100 wins per season for the last 3 years, which is insane. Although that doesn't explain the Cowboys. 4.2 billion dollars. Good lord. And yet they still suck ass.

Exactly, it’s across the board. Teams used to be worth a few hundred mill and now they’re in the billions. They’re getting way more exposure now.

Rugani to Chelsea for 40 mill

i'm sure about the ownership and financial base, not sure about right people and the rest. i mean roma have a professional american ownership for a while, they hired sabatini (controversial guy, but with plenty of experience), had some good coaches, never won a single title under palotta, the new stadium project has barely started and has already been affected with corruption claims, etc. the ricketts family might be smart people, but that's italy, where you can't even build a new stadium even if you wanted, and ready to bribe the shit out of any local official.

anyway, let's hope that at least one of the milan clubs has some shady background and incompetent leadership.
