Milan have condemned Gazzetta dello Sport for reporting the club had lost their 'dignity’ against Verona on Sunday.

La Gazzetta went with Milan’s 3-0 defeat to Verona on their Monday front page, but the suggestion of “zero dignity” used for its headline did not go down well with the Rossoneri.

“The defeat to Verona was, without doubt, serious, mortifying and unacceptable,” read a Press review on the club’s official website.

“However, with respect to the recognised and proven moral integrity of a Coach, coaching staff and an entire team, any form of confusion regarding the concept of dignity is equally unacceptable.

“Milan have apologised for their performance at Verona, which lends itself to criticism, but pointing the finger at dignity leaves a very bitter aftertaste of fury, which transcends technical assessments and the act of criticism.

“Judgments cannot and mustn’t lose balance, even in the face of a bad result. The ball remains the ball and our dignity remains something else.”

I have some bad news for AC Milan, they have lost their dignity a logn, long time ago.
this is their "we can't even beat fucking hellas verona, so let's issue a statement" declaration :baus:

I wonder which single decision/event caused this collapse?

I'd say 'goal di Muntari' :D
:agree:

That specific moment initiated Meelan's fall. Then losing a double digit lead in the league and losing the title to us
Take it in, it was Zlatan's first season in Italy NOT winning the title :touched:

Berlusconi and Galliani destroyed AC Milan years ago, however I can think of three of key turning points that cemented their fate.

1. The sale of Shevcheko [2006]
Although they went on to win the CL the following year, this masked the problems they were having. The sale of Shevchenko ushered a new era of lacklustre signings, managers changing often, overreliance of players who were clearly past it, selling their key players etc. The brilliant Allegri helped them win the league in 2011, however again, this masked deep problems that the club had. Allegri's Milan were really average in reality.

2. Leonardo leaving the club [2010]
Leonardo was AC Milan's greatest scout, it was he who got them the likes of Kaka and was a key assist to the club. Problem is, Leonardo was not fit to be manager. Berlusconi thought otherwise, and after selling their best player, he put the blame on Leonardo for not winning the league.

3. The sacking of Allegri [2014]
The reality is, that Allegri's AC Milan was incredibly average. Aside from Ibrahimovic and Silva, the rest of the squad was filled with has beens and mediocre players. [Pirlo an acceptation, but he too needed a new challenged.] In 2012, AC Milan decided to sell their own two world class players, yet Allegri still managed to finish third and made SES and Ballotelli look like superstars. But even Allegri could not save this dire Milan, and soon he was made the scapegoat. Since Allegri, no manager lasted more than one season.

Confirmed: Milan 'in ritiro'
By Football Italia staff

Milan have reportedly cancelled their Christmas dinner party but confirm they will go into 'ritiro’ following Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Verona.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the players, with their families, coaches and directors were supposed to dine together on Monday evening,

However, due to the “difficult time” the Rossoneri are experiencing, the broadcaster claims the meal has been called off.

As a further course of action, Milan have announced that their squad will be in 'ritiro’ from Tuesday until further notice, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting the decision was made by Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone.

A 'ritiro’ is essentially a punitive training camp, in which the players stay together before and after training, in an effort to focus their minds.

Next up for Gennaro Gattuso’s side is a Serie A clash with Atalanta on Saturday.

Totti’s wife: No Spalletti regrets
By Football Italia staff

Francesco Totti’s wife insists “I don’t regret” branding former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti “a little man”.
Ilary Blasi attacked Spalletti for his treatment of Totti last year, and she stood by her comments when asked if she felt any remorse towards them.
“I said he was a little man and I don’t regret it,” the media personality told Fatto Quotidiano.
“Luckily I’m always clear-headed when I speak and aware of what I say. First I think... maybe it was a gaffe and that it also happens to politicians.
“Here, it happens to them, but not to me.”

Don't know if the Romanisti will ever realize this, but he was a cancer, and Totti leaving the team (plus Monchi's arrival) will have marked their turnaround.

didnt he score only like 15 goals that year? him, Pato and Robinho all scored around the same number that year. it was in 2012 that Ibra scored close to 30, but too many injuries and fatigue, and a great and fresh Juve team got the better of them

He played 29 matches, had 14 goals and 12 assists, missed almost all of the last games when the championship was pretty much Milans anyways. If you asked me what gave Milan that Scudetto, I'd list two factors: agent Benitez destroying a perfectly capable Inter and Ibra being dominant
