Serie A could potentially be very strong next season, but only if Roma and Napoli keep adding to their squads and Milan's Chinese are actually real people. Inter will definitely spend some money in the summer, FFP withstanding.
hardly. They'll prolly sell and a lot this summer.
we gotta wait and see if they can replace the big players with other good ones.
Like Roma has to sell at least a big one between Manolas and Nainggolan for financial fair play.

Napoli has to sell Hysai cause his contract will expire next year and he doesn't want to renew it.
Insigne asking for 4,5m (atm he is on 1,8m/year)
If Mertens keep rocking I can already see some big teams moving for him and at 29years old I guess he'll look somewhere to win something a nice increase of wage.

Napoli has some tricky problems this summer.

While Roma is forced to make one or two big sellings to keep itself up finacially speaking.

Inter will be a threat if those chinese are for real and gonna flood the transfer market with money

For Roma and Napoli ?

Inter should have quite the potential now. If i were their owner , i'd purchase the hell out of the italian competition, full juve style
Definitely Inter, potentially Milan. Roma and Napoli have been competitive for several years now, at least for small, choker clubs.

reason? more offensive football compared to the past or what?
More offensive football, plenty of great young players (especially some good Italian ones coming up), Napoli/Roma/Inter improving and just generally a lot of entertaining and fun games in general. I've also really enjoyed teams like Atalanta, and to a lesser extent, Torino, playing really nice football and with good young players. Far from perfect of course, but still very good. And like what Jay and others have said on here, if the aforementioned clubs (and Milan) manage to keep hold of their best players and perhaps add some more, it'll be a very competitive league again next season. But we'll still win it :D

I think it is no problem for Napoli if Hysaj leave. I do not think Mertens and Insigne will leave. Mertens said more times he is at home in Napoli and feels good. Insigne is a child of the club and it's just a way to increase his salary. Even if one of the two will leave they can easily replace. Napoli is on an 8 year profitstreak so they've enough money. I agree with Roma tho.

Taci: 'Parma debts were €240m’

By Football Italia staff

Albanian businessman Rezart Taci says Parma had debts of €240m when be bought them, not the claimed €70m.

The Ducali went bankrupt at the end of the 2014-15 season, and are currently working their way back through the divisions.

Tommaso Ghirardi was President of the club, but walked away at the beginning of the season, with Taci replacing him.

However, the Albanian then sold the Crociati again to Giampietro Manenti, who was later accused of money laundering.

“The idea [to buy the club] came from an Italian lawyer,” Taci explained to LodiFanfulla.

“I took the documentation, evaluated it, and said yes to the initiative. I therefore agreed to buy the club, but only under certain conditions.

“The main one was that the company didn’t have more than €78m of debt. In fact, after two weeks of management, we discovered that the debts were €240m, plus another €50m to be added over the next three or four months of activity.

“So Parma were bottom of the table, with €265m in debts, other legal problems and over 100 players who were to be paid.

“I decided to sell because we realised there were not the conditions to continue with this club. The only thing to do was to denounce the former owners and take the books to the appropriate institutions, but we decided not to hurt the old ownership.

“We chose the easy option, to sell the club again.

“Ghirardi blamed me for the bankruptcy? Well I don’t know how I could have racked up €260m in debt and signed 100 players in two weeks…”

Legendary. James Richardson as host, those were the glory days of the league. Did you get the spin off magazine? It was called Calcio Italia for a long time, then changed to Football Italia (which spawned the website we all know).

Yep we got the magazine too. Was always delayed though, so we'd be in January for example and have the September edition just come out (for a ludicrous price too)

James Richardson :touched: Great host and what a fucken great job he had too. Living in Italy, drinking espressos, eating gelato, reading the sports papers and covering what was the best league in the world. On a released note, I Listen to his Football Weekly pod too, it's pretty good and he's a funny fucker :D

I think it was the opposite. Think the magazine was called Football Italia (I've got some old copies and I'm sure that was it) then the website was called that when it was on Channel 4's site.

When they cancelled the show, the magazine became Calcio Italia and the website retained the name, even when they left Channel 4.

I remember when we got relegated he would say things like "the last team to to win in Florence was Juventus who of course are in Serie B"... and smile or look smug while doing it.

He even hosted a special on Calciopoli before the new wiretaps emerged of course. Even visited Moggi's hometown.

He is a Romanista after all so can't really blame him. Still a great presenter though

I think he always had a soft spot for Fiorentina as well, so even more reason. Just proves what a great sense of humour he has.

For me, Serie A has been the best and most entertaining league this season.
Every season since we've been winning it's been my favorite. Especially towards the end of the season watching the likes of inter and meelan fail to make it to cl, and Napoli celebrating second place, and Roman tears too.

Mirante out for two weeks
By Football Italia staff

Bologna goalkeeper Antonio Mirante will be out for two weeks with a buttock injury.

The 33-year-old had to come off during the 7-1 loss to Napoli, and it has now been announced that he’ll be out for around 14 days.

“Tests on Antonio Mirante have revealed an injury to his right gluteus muscle and the estimated recovery time is two weeks,” the Rossoblu announced in a statement on their official website.
