Agent: 'Gabigol has no chance'
By Football Italia staff

The agent of out-of-favour forward Gabriel Barbosa has declared the striker 'has no chance' at Inter.

The 20-year-old striker signed from Santos for around €28m in the summer, but has failed to feature under former Coach Frank de Boer and current boss Stefano Pioli. Rumours have since suggested that the unhappy Brazilian will leave the club on loan in January.

"I was at San Siro for Inter - Fiorentina, and I asked President Erick Thohir why the player wasn’t introduced when the team were winning 3-0," the players agent told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I understand that he is young and has a lot to learn, but I wonder what he is lacking that is preventing him from playing.

"If Inter were top of Serie A I'd say they're waiting for him to play. But Inter are in mid-table and he still has no chance.

"I met President Thohir and he told me that Inter would make Gabriel the best player in the world.

"In addition to the Nerazzurri, there were Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Leicester that were all interested.

"The decisive aspect was the economic one in the end.

"Gabriel arrived in Italy, he was greeted by more than a thousand people in the airport and was presented in an auditorium as they did with Ronaldo.

"He is physically well and fits into the team, but in three months she played only 19 minutes.

"When I asked if [Piero] Ausilio if the Coach knew where and how Gabriel would play or if he wasn’t playing because he was not deemed ready, he replied that he would play.

"In January, I will ask Ausilio what Pioli’s plan is for him. Will give him a chance or will they send him away on loan?

"I do not want to force the Coach, but if it does not then you play for Inter there will be opportunities in another team: Adriano, for example, went to Parma and returned as king.

"As I remember, when Kaka arrived at Milan, in front of him in the pecking order was Rui Costa.

"The Coach was Ancelotti and he put Kaka on for the second half. He was the best on the pitch. Gabriel is young, but has no chance."

The agent is right in every word tho even if he has to oversell his client obviously. Who signs a top talent for 30 and has no fucking intention of playing him? He hasn't even gotten the chance to fail, what gives? Seems to be zero communication and plans.

Indeed, he gets top player salary, what is it, 5 or 6m? They went ambitious they thought signing him but apparently only wanted the Pr of making such a signing had no footballing interest in signing overrated talent.

Inter have spent €169M on these players in the last few years: Pazzini, Ranocchia, Alvarez, Hernanes, Shaqiri, Kondogbia, Jovetic and Gabriel

No wonder they were in a big financial trouble.
