Milan, Donnarumma:”I cried after the loss to Juventus, but I’m optimistic about the future”

Interview by Giovanni Scotto

While Milan is coming off a challenging season, the emergence of Gianluigi Donnarumma was a very welcomed development. The 17 year old keeper was in Amalfi for the Football Leader award- he gave an exclusive interview to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, he started by discussing the loss to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final:"I'm sorry, we are all sorry. I cried after the match against Juventus because we believed. We believed because we prepared the match in the best possible way, but especially because during the match we proved we belonged, we hung in there. We could have won, but unfortenately the goal arrived"

The loss in the final didn't take away Gigio's smile:"I can't help but be happy. It was a great season for me. I lived a dream. It's obvious, there were difficulties. We wanted to play in Europe. But personally I'm happy"

When did you realize you would be the starter? "I never understood it, in the sense that Mihajlovic told me the day before the match against Sassuolo. I was happy, I didn't believe it but I knew it was reality so I concentrated because I knew it was my great opportunity. I'm sorry Mihajlovic left, he helped me get into this role. I owe him a lot and I thank him. After the summer friendlies he never told me anything, I was ready to work with Diego Lopez and Abbiati, then he told me "You are playing against Sassuolo"

And now there could be a Milan without Berlusconi, do you ever think about it? Honestly it's very hard to imagine a Milan without the president. I'm very attached to Milan's colors and therefore also the president. I don't know what to think, I put myself in the shoes of the fans and think of their desires that are the same of ours- we want Milan to go back to winning. The president is the right person, he knows what to do. I see myself at Milan for many years, it's true I'm very young, but I see myself here for another ten years. I care a lot about this, it's my dream. We want to do better next season"

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi admits “after 30 years it’s time for me to fold”.

A Chinese consortium is in talks to buy a 70 per cent stake in the Rossoneri, with reports yesterday that a deal could be completed by June 20.

“I believe that after 30 years it’s time for me to fold,” Berlusconi said, referencing a poker game on Tele Radio Più.

“But I want to leave Milan to someone who will make the club a protagonist in Italy and the world, someone who can ensure a commitment to put money into the squad every year.”

As in the most important goals?
Cause beauty-wise Dybala's goal vs Lazio was the best IMO.
I sort of like Dybala's exact replica of Götze's WC final goal too.

BTW looking at it again Lemina's vs Atalanta is incredible.

According to Sky, Suning are about to purchase the 29.5% shares Moratti owns of Inter and have the majority of the club (60%).

This the same company that brought Alex Teixeira to China in January? Are Inter going to get him?
