because i didnt even look at them tbh, its not that important as in a scenario where they won vs Crotone and Napoli lost to Lazio, they would have had the momentum on their side and the pressure would be on Napoli to win each game. but here are inters games anyway - Milan, Fiorentina away, Napoli home, Genoa away, Sassuolo home, Lazio away, Udinese home. point is, it wasnt over yet and they had to win this "easy" game to stay in the race, but they failed. and they fielded their more or less strongest lineup available

Even if you don't care at all about the team each game you play as a professional you should want to impress as you are showcasing yourself no? It affects your valuation, whether to other clubs, to your current for a renewal or better contract. To intentionally play poorly or lose is ridiculous career move.
