This gets interesting. romanista and IncuboRossenero. Hmmm!!!

All the arguments are getting us nowhere. Bottom line, Juve got 3 points, and that is what matters.
this is what i call a Post.

yeah what if Zebina got a red for trying to out right kick Totti

what if Zambrotta got a red for that horrid tackle on Panucci

even the anouncer said those should have been straight reds

what if those idiots of officials actually did a good job

could have been a really different game

we'll never know
don't try to be smart. Still you didn't answer his questions.

Zebina to get a red card??? why??? because he was trying to put a LIMIT for that bastard captain.

man....i could never agreeed with denco..

first of all subbing del piero for pessotto is not only for the sake of 'being defensive'.. it was done totally to neutralize Roma attacking threats. There is no way Del Piero can keep hold of Mancini.. I am pretty sure Roma would easier score with us using 433 than 442 at that stage of the match without the double padded cover on both flank...

and why del piero?...its obvious we dont need Del Piero's quality at that stage anymore ...the game was chaotic..so who can keep their tactical form and steadiness would hold the edge.. we needed someone who have physical to hold the ball up and compete with the very physical Roma... In term of posession Zlatan, Del Piero and Appiah are the worst in our team. But Zlatan have the physical so he stays.....that only leaves Del Piero...

and you are being harsh on Zalayeta..i simply see him as our best forward at the moment....The is no way he deserved to be subbed, both characterwise and performanwise..... i hope he start agains Madrid..preferably at the expense of Zlatan who is very poor lately...

my only critic would be that Capello waste a substitution in Zlatan for Trezeguet... Zlatan had not been very good but the dynamic of our game at that moment would surely not allow Trezeguet to be very effective... i would prefer Capello to pour cold shower on Roma attack more by subbing Blasi for Tacchinardi.... he is more steady than Blasi..and a yellow carded Blasi is always a time bomb.
- So each time we are 0-1 we subs Dp and put Defender???

Alex hails ‘ugly’ victory Monday 7 March, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alessandro Del Piero has admitted that Juventus’ win at Roma wasn’t a great spectacle for the game.

The Bianconeri collected a precious 2-1 victory at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night, but the match was marred by too many fouls and some unsavoury challenges.

"There was too much nervousness out there," the Turin captain explained via his official website.

"A little bit of everything went on during the match, and the tension on the field produced 72 fouls, far too many for a game of football."

It may not have been the greatest advert for Italian football but Del Piero, who was also slapped by Leandro Cufre in the encounter, was thankful for the points.

"In any case, we collected three indispensable points in order to keep up with Milan," added the Italian.

"There is no doubt now that it will be a fight until the very end with the Rossoneri, as we have again demonstrated that we want the Scudetto as much as they do."

However, Alex is archiving the title race for now given the imminent arrival of Real Madrid in the Champions’ League.

"It is inevitable that we are already focused on the game against the Merengues," he continued.

"We will be asked to give our very best and even more. We can go through but only if we play a perfect game."

Juventus, who play the Spaniards on Wednesday at the Delle Alpi, lost the first leg 1-0 after Ivan Helguera netted the only goal of the game.

I Disagree, if you want to Subs him, you do it with an Attacker like Trezguet or Kapo, ( I know kapo aint Forward )...we don't need to stay in defence because even with 11 players inside of the box, we have the chance to get fvcked....

am not against what Capello did, but it's pretty dangerous, and i'd like him to avoid it next time, this reminds me of Italy Vs Sweden Euro04.

can Trezeguet or Kapo help out to secure threat from the flanks?

Bringing in pessotto and switching back the 442 was a good idea from capello, as he was able to give juve a balanced defense system, that can attack well(should've actually).. and seeing as Del Piero needed to be rested for the Real match, and was looking a bit too tired to go running after Mancini, Pessotto was able to bring a freshness to the juve side..

P.S. once again..this was not the discussion. You said that a ROMANISTA should not support Rome anymore because of their behaviour on the pitch. By that rationale you should not support Juve given the fact that it has been proven they won a CL and scudettis while being doped up.
If I would mind they were all doped up that is.. The fact is I simply don't care. Sports are a joke these days and it's just one big show anyway. Furthermore, what makes me want to see Juventus, players like Del Piero, aren't great because they're doped up but because they have technical skills I could only dream of.

If we had concede a goal in the last five minutes, everyone would be screaming for Capello's head...

But you're saying that a 4-3-3 is more defensively sound than the 442..???
Besides, we were playing roma, and it is highly unlikely that we are gonna score more than 2 goals away from home, so why keep the trident..??

Moggi Applauds Del Piero’s Fair Play
3/7/2005 1:22:00 PM
In a very tense and rough game, the Juve captain’s non-reaction towards Cufre’s slap was the highlight of the match.
That Roma-Juve would have been a very hard-fought encounter was something that was quite obvious, but that it would turn into such a battle was something of a disgrace according to the Bianconeri’s General Director Luciano Moggi.

“On the pitch it was a game of kicks. We had already warned our players during the week and invited them many times not to accept the provocations and don’t react. And so it was.”

Moggi had words of praise for Alessandro Del Piero who did not create a scene when at one point Cufre tried to provoke the Juve captain by slapping him on the face.

“Did you see what happened to Del Piero? When they say that our players are professionals apart from champions...They slapped him and he did not react, on the contrary, he responded with fair play which Cufre will not forget for a long time: he complimented his opponent for the nice gesture…”

Exactly.

Del Piero should be a role model for many, many players. While assholes like Cufre and most of Roma's squad should be fined and banned! Bastards!
