Ferrari? TBH, Ferrari are more than self sufficient, they make tons and tons of money off sponsorship so they dont really need the help of the Agnellis/Elkanns to finance their sporting activities.
Real Madrid makes like 350-400 million Euros in revenue every year. It's more than any other club by a long way. They don't take money from the Spanish government or from Perez. They don't need to.
Ferrari are so NOT. Montizemolo is trying to convince himself they are. Part of those Ferrari deals are coming from Pirelli and a certain oil company and started 2006. More than that Ferrari is about prestige and a high-tech developer for the other brands that FIAT owns - directly or indirectly. And these two quotes answer the thing I am talking about. Juventus used to be the most expensive venue to advertise as well. Obviously not now - but who would invest in a club that is aiming for UEFA competition and is playing in the most corrupt league? A club that was announced to be corrupt by the most corrupt court the world has ever seen. They had to sacrifice something - you can't have it all, but I am waiting for Red Bull's owner to advertise in Juventus - that would be great as well. Maybe ferrari would compete in the GP2 world for a while then??? My only hope is that sooner or later the british are going for revenge and Ferrari would loose the "most titles in F1" thingy. Cause race for race they are worse than McLaren and that could not be said about Juve before 2006 and maybe still now. Also if anyone is being supported by the authorities - it was rather Ferrari from FIA, than Juve from FIGC.

This.

The difference in income is just too obsene to compete. They can overpay for young unproven lads like neymar.... without even trying. They receive incomes from CL and the infinite amount of money they do in merchandising.

We, on the other hand, have 2 years straight without CL income, we dont sell out tickets of our "gigantic" stadium never, and del piero do not sell shirts like he used to.

Because of this, we need to be carefull in deals.... otherwise we can pull off a kaka like madrid did and shoot ourselves in the foot for the years to come. The difference would be that unlike them....we will end in red numbers....lots of them.
True, we cannot afford to pull out a Kaka. But he is insured and madrid aren't loosing sleep over it. The publicity is there as well: is kaka alright? Is he taking a dump now or not? Does he believe in the true god... and more bullshit. Anyway they've pulled a Figo, a Ronaldo, a Zidane, a Beecham, a Puskas.... and the balance is they are making money out of it. Second in revenues you said, right? Important to a lot of people, not only the club, and it is paying back - everyone is ready to invest and have them back on top, because a lot depends on that. We were doing the same - ask moggi. But some people thought that it would be better if they are in charge and so they are. Thats not a small feat by itself - now is the time to drive this takeover plan home or let it rot under the sun. What they are doing now is wasting money (not only liquid assets, but prestige, the "CV" of the club and so on) and that is THE only reason why Elkann-Rockfeller threw some cash. Now there are some problems - for one he knows his cousin is an idiot, second it might be better this way for him and third he is making money out of it (ferrari...). Also, I am not completely sure even Elkann was prepared for Marotta.
