But this something they've argued, that he isn't champion material and that Juve are fooling themselves.
He has performed extremely well and consistently in La Liga and Europe. The only reason I have any doubt about him is that he was lucky enough to form an excellent partnership with Forlan who was hitting peak form recently which may have flattered him. Otherwise I don't see the basis for these claims because Moggi and co. simply can't provide one. Moggi said Jonathon is a champion compared to Aguero. He's just a bitter shit talker who is paid to feed his ego on television.

Did Fernando Torres, another man to wear the Atletico shirt, ever win anything at club level to merit the label champion.
Apart from the World Cup winners medal he's done very little to justify the huge fee shelled out by Chelsea.
Aguero compared to say Ibrahimovic cannot be considered a champion if you use club honours as the criterion.
Obviously, if he moved to a club like Milan, Bayern Munich or Manchester United, he would be at a club that would give him the opportunity to win silverware and thus for him to be considered a champion.
Time will tell.
In the meantime, we all have to acknowledge and accept that Aguero's ship has sailed.
Rossi is clearly coming and given our financial limitations.

Isn't the word "champion" in Italy given to a talented player who has proven his ability on field regardless if he has won anything?
more or less, yes. It's not necessarily a way to describe a player who has won a title but rather someone who can make the difference and take his team to another level ... usually, however, these players have already won something anyway.

I believe what Moggi means by saying that Aguero is not a champion is not that he is not a good player but that he is not someone who can walk into Juve and transform the team as it is, like Ibra did with Milan (although in that case there were other factors too).

Based on what Moggi's had to say on this, I think he is implying that Juve need to notably strengthen the team in a number of other areas and not just rely mostly on one costly signing to make most of the difference by himself - Aguero is a good player but not 45 mil and 7-8mil/season good ... these are figures a team pays for a player, who should be able to carry the team on his back, so to speak, and Moggi doesn't seem to see Aguero as a player of such a caliber ... and frankly, neither do I, as much as I like him.

Personally, I perfectly understand why Juve fans are going crazy over a good, famed and exotic talent like Aguero but if Juve wind up having a not-so-good next season, it won't be because they chose Rossi over Aguero but because they failed to improve the team as a whole ... I think Aguero is, overall, a better player than Rossi but not that much better as to make choosing Rossi over Aguero the same as choosing Rossi over players like Ibra, Eto'o, Del Piero, Zidane, Kaka, etc, etc ... now that would be a choice that Juve would definitely end up regretting, if they were to make it.

Whoever says Aguero isn't a champion is just retarded.

I've lost quite a bit of confidence and respect in Moggi's knowledge in the market anymore.

"Juve is the only team to have approached me, no other club has made any offers" ... this is what Aguero revealed to his teammates from the NT

P.S. as Joe said, I think this is about a week old

Well I think I've got my answer but as Salvo said of the targets we can chose from Kun seems to be the best one. Personally I'd like to see Kun come but I have to agree with acmilan, we're in desperate need of someone who can take us to the next level. Based upon our squad today I can not see any player taking this step for us, with or without Kun. I want Kun to arrive but I don't see him replacing Zidane, Nedved or Del Piero. The problem for me is the exact thing Salvo pointed out, I really can not give any better suggestion especially since Rossi won't come that much cheaper. If Rossi could come a lot cheaper and we could afford another champion as left winger I'd be a lot less doubtful. Hopefully I'm worrying too much and this will all play out well.

I actually do think Kun will play in our dress next year.

Haven't seen this, maybe this is why he said a few weeks ago that he'd already made up is mind about where he was going to play next year and that he'd reveal it all after copa america. This being said it indicates imo that he won't be playing in AM next year. If he would he'd have denied any of the speculations. Which he didn't.
