Haha this guy is saying that Amauri and Diego were at one stage in the same class category as Aguero
Not sure about Amauri but Diego was a star at Werder Bremen and no one can refute that. He single handedly dragged Werder to Europa league final eliminating about 3 italian teams along the way. At that point I think could have signed for anyone he wanted and he chose Juve because he supported them as a child.

I don't think anyone really said no to signing him. Diego was and still is a very very talented footballer but one talented footballer in an aging slow team (juve last year) cannot make too much of a difference. I would have kept Diego. He was definitely not to blame for the failure last year. He was easily to most naturally talented player we had last year and I think playing with Krasic this year would have made a difference. Diego needed strikers who ran into space to pick up passes not slow and bulky amauris or iaquintas. At most he needed two supporting wingers and fullbacks. If you look at the game against sampdora (5 - 1) last year, Diego dominated the ball with Gio and Camo on the wings and they destroyed Samp. For some reason the formation was never used again.

Unfortunately the formation change to 4-4-2 didn't suit him so he was sold. I still believe it was a mistake though and I think it will eventually come back to haunt us ala Thierry Henry.

I was a Diego fan and never wanted him to leave but i never thought for a minute that he was ever at the level of "next best" after the likes if Messi & C.Ronaldo
