There. Molinaro-Chiellini-Legrottaglie-Grygera was the second best defense in the league in 07/08 and we had the third best in 08/09 despite Ranieri's problems. Organisation of the defense is very important, look at how well they performed in the RMadrid matches in the CL.

It's even more relevant to discuss the defensive organisation, because a well organized team that can put a good and consistent pressure on the opposing team do not need world class fullbacks. They need good defenders but not world class.

That doesn't make any sense at all. A WC striker will ALWAYS cost more than a WC defender. Offensive players naturally cost more. As andy said, they are the ones that put points on the board.
