Between Aguero for ~35-40 M euros and very high wages(7,5 M euros/year) and Sanchez for 35 M euros and much lower wages(~4 M euros), I would take Sanchez.
Thing is...Kun is the same age, has scored bucket loads more of goals in Europe for the last 5 seasons. Kun demands the higher wage because he is the better player. You get what you pay for and in this case you get a lot more than you would for Sanchez.

That's why if what is being said is true, we should pay the clause, agree terms with him and wrap the deal as soon as possible.
Yeah, but the thing is, I find it way more likely that we pay the very expensive clause (us paying 45m for a single player, despite being worth it, is quite alien idea these days), then us getting Aguero to agree with us on personal terms. I fail to see why he should, quite bit better options then us, he is moving for sporting reasons, after grinding it out for years in his current club. We cant even provide the basic of what top teams do, CL footie and a genuine shot at a league title.

Real Madrid are in a tough spot. UEFA are against them and in Spain they cannot afford to have Atletico M (rivals, but friends) to trash their image additionally. They have a lot of image-related sponsorship deals. Including and foremost players - ronaldo wouldn't be getting 15 mils per year if he isn't smiling in every possible game and scoring too. For example financially Benzema was a huge burden before his explosion and media time and it's all over again after he hasn't played for a few games. Imagine Aguero, Higuanin and now Kaka back into this team? They have to play with 3 defenders at most, just so that they can rotate their stars to play at least one of two games. It just wouldn't happen.
I would say if Aguero is worth the :tuttosport: he would choose us over them, provided he is shown the intent from our team to get back in the top. If he would prefer to take Kaka, Benzema and Mourinho on bridge, forming the most expensive and least experienced bridge table in the world - then he is not worth coming here.

Top players cost a lot of money. When we sign some average/good players we complain about the lack of quality, but when we try to compete for the absolute top drawer players, it's all too expensive?

I'm not saying we should go all Man. City this mercato, which surely, we won't ( can't.. ), but that's the price you pay really. It's one way or the other. Sanchez would be a bit cheaper, but you don't know what kind of wages we'd offer Aguero.
Ken is so wise. :sheik:

And so is Cam.

Till now we are Aguero's only option. No one is interested except us and a very minor interest from City.

IMO, we must get Aguero at all costs; him too is our only option for a world-class striker. We can't begin the season without such player, with Milan, Inter and others strengthening their squads that way.

I'm optimistic after Gil's comments about our willingness to buy Sergio :xfinger:
This always happens to us, we announce our interest, take weeks/ months to close the deal and then we lose the player to another club at the last minute. JUST GET THE DEAL DONE!

He is not going to Real Madrid. Gentlemen's agreement remember?

I don't buy those BS anymore after seeing Torres to Chelski. It's today's football.

The only thing comforts me is that Marotta met w Perez. Seeing both club intrested in Aguero, I assume they also had a chat about that. That meeting could be a bonuce and gives Marotta upper hand to deal with Atleti.
