Juve step up Aguero pressure
Sergio Aguero’s wonder goal in the Copa America has prompted Juventus to rush through their bid for the Atletico Madrid striker.
It has been well known for some time that he is their primary transfer target for the summer, but the initial €35m offer was rejected.
With competition from Real Madrid and his price-tag possibly set to rise after a sensational strike for Argentina in the 1-1 Copa America draw with Bolivia, Juve have to act fast.
It’s reported director Giuseppe Marotta will fly out to Madrid on Tuesday to present an improved €40m bid.
There are alternatives, such as Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal and Roma’s Mirko Vucinic, but Aguero remains the top draw.
The Gazzetta dello Sport also outlined who they claim are no longer part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
They include Alex Manninger, Zdenek Grygera, Marco Motta, Fabio Grosso, Momo Sissoko, Tiago Mendes, Felipe Melo, Luca Toni, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Jorge Martinez and Amauri.
