Roma President Franco Sensi claims that Juventus and Milan are the reason behind their poor season so far.
Hardly a stranger to controversy, the businessman let loose in a damning interview with RAI programme ‘Dribbling’.
“Roma have discovered the reason behind its troubles,” explained Sensi, “and who inflicted those problems on the club. They are two Serie A teams, Juventus and Milan.”
The Giallorossi are languishing in ninth place, sixteen points adrift of joint leaders Inter and the Rossoneri.
Although they are also all but out of the Champions’ League, Fabio Capello’s men have pointed to refereeing errors as the main reason behind their downfall.
“Above all else,” added Sensi, “Milan are the main cause. It is not an accident that in this year we find a League President who is not suitable for the task.”
There has been a great deal of controversy this year over Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani’s election as President of the League – voted for by Serie A and B clubs.
Many people – including Inter patron Massimo Moratti and Sensi – claim this is a conflict of interests and the reason why the Rossoneri have been awarded more penalties than any other side this season.
Earlier this year, Roma patron Sensi had told the press that Juve and Milan represented “a group of thieves” and “an axis of evil” in the world of Italian football.
