No, sell him after this season to have the best price. If he comes back to Juve people will soon realize how mediocre he is and his price tag drops.

the reason gio is doomed to be mid table team hero forever is his physical, otherwise his best chance is only to be as a sub in big clubs; the reason is that in smaller clubs, opponents won't double man mark him as if he's the starting 11 in a big club, in a big club he can still play good against any teams that can't defend like novara, roma etc... but against teams with decent defense or CL class big match, giovinco will have a hard time playing his game as a starting 11, they will be prepared for him and man mark him.

as a sub he's honestly quite perfect for big clubs because of his speed and technical ability will certainly bring some new dimension towards opponent

can be useful yes, can be relied upon? no. as much as mirko is criticized for disappearing he still came through huge and gio has not shown that and will prolly never show it. So to once again to say that gio is better than mirko is simply laughable.

Right, well I'm certainly not arguing that Giovinco is better than Vucinic, obviously one has accomplished far more in Serie A than the other. I'm a Mirko fan. He's also had more opportunities though, and form is variable - especially with Vucinic. Giovinco hasn't proven that Juventus can rely on him, but we know that circumstances have changed dramatically at the club from a couple years ago. Conte has done wonders with a lot of our players, it's been beautiful to watch. If the price is reasonable, communication is good and egos are in check, I think it provides us with some very nice depth. You just can't predict injuries, form, or life in general, and Juventus need to start acquiring 2 starting caliber players per position, if the club is going to excel in Europe. Considering we own a stake in the player, it's a fairly minimal risk to bring him back to the club, and he could eventually excel. If he does well at the Euro's, well, Giovinco's quite a marketable player -people like the underdog. Because of his characteristics, I think he'll continue to be a valued commodity around Italy, and should be easy to sell if things don't work out.

For 10M, he's a good purchase for me.

Both in 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 Giovinco's rival for a starting spot is Vucinic.

Our opinion and rating of both players aside, lets take a look at it this way:

- Three days ago Vucinic said that Conte was the one who strongly pushed for him. Even if he didn't say that, it was obvious that Conte has a soft spot for Mirko. The man plays him no matter what.
- Marotta says that we will buy only one player or two. Might or might not be true, but I guess that we do plan to spend a lot of money only on one or two players, with the rest being very cheap signings or free transfers.


Since Giovinco will probably cost us some 10m eur if it goes to blind bidding, I have doubts that we'll decide to spend that much on someone who's destined to spend lot of time on the bench. Ideally, we'd get him because I sincerely doubt we will buy a star SS and make Mirko the 2nd choice SS/AML, just like I doubt we will buy a better sub for Mirko than Seba.
But it might easily happen not to even go for Giovinco. Seba will certainly want to play more regularly, which is normal, and he probably won't get as much playing time in Juve. On the other hand, even if Giovinco is willing to hit the bench, it's a question if Juve are willing to pay 10m eur or so for a bench player.

Personally I'd get a top forward, get rid of one of Matri, Quag and Borriello, and get back Giovinco. An attacking force of Cavani, Vucinic / Matri, Giovinco + one of Qaug and Borriello + Pepe for the 4-3-3 is rather strong. But Giovinco and Marotta might not agree with this. The former would like more playing time and the latter might not want to spend big on a bench player, especially since it's a player we fully owned not too long ago.

let me point out the flaws in your logic:

in smaller clubs, opponents won't double man mark him

so you say that an opponent will not double man mark giovinco, while he is playing for parma even though he is the only dangerous player

opposed to the scenario when giovinco plays for juve, they will double mark him and wont care about the other high quality players that are able to score without the help of giovinco.

i hope you see by yourself that this is not logic at all. in a team with many stars it is much less likely that they will man mark giovinco, simply because there are too many other dangerous players on a similar level which would use the numerical advantage to score.
