When talking about 'he's scored more than our players', pretty pointless argument.
you are right, but that was never the argument. of course he would not score as much here as he did in parma.
what you CAN do is compare his amount of assists and goals to other potential signings like gaston ramires and clearly see that if giovinco will score less, than ramires will have 1 goal all season or something (if you put that into perspective)
Juve have various attacking outlets, Parma only Giovinco who takes everything, a static poacher, and the clueless runner. Those three played pretty much the whole season, they knew their role and benefit from consistency. That's before taking into account the pros and cons between Parma and Juventus.
of course giovinco would need to adapt, since the small teams tactic of quick breaks are useless while playing for us, but if there is someone able to fit in, when playing against very tight defenses of teams defending with 11 men, than it is the midget. he has the technical skills to receive and trap the ball in small spaces and the small frame which will make it easier "a) to slip in between too defenders" and "b) be fouled in and around the penalty box to gain freekicks and penalty kicks".

The point being, what a player does in a small club can't be assumed as being relevant at a big one. You just look at the characteristics of a player, how they would fit the team both on and off the pitch, the room for growth and potential. Giovinco fits a role on the pitch, because he can play as the left wing forward or SS.

i can perfectly see him slot in seemlessly for vucinic. from what i remember by seeing him play from time to time giovinco will be a smaller version of vucinic. giovinco has a higher work ethic and let's not kid ourselves, he can't be less prolific than vucinic. even though mirko scored a few times at the end of the season, he still did fluff many chances which giovinco probably had buried.

Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi is doing the rounds on his birthday today and has now revealed his valuation of Sebastian Giovinco.

Ghirardi is giving a series of interviews to the Press today, as he celebrates his birthday and Parma’s surprisingly strong end to the season.

It is one that has been inspired by Giovinco, with five goals and three assists to his name from the team’s winning streak of six games. The 25-year-old is seeing speculation surrounding his future intensify further as a result, something that Ghirardi has looked to comment on today.

“Sebastian is co-owned between Parma and Juventus and we must meet and discuss the future,” the Ducali President told Radio Sportiva, reiterating a point earlier made to Sky Sport Italia.

“I would not be so sure of us losing him, because he wants to stay in Parma, but if Juve or one of the other big clubs wants to gamble on him then it would be right for him to consider it, but given our club’s project, I don’t see why he has to leave.

“I’m used to valuing my products based on bids in the market, so if Javier Pastore and Alexis Sanchez are valued at €40m, then Giovinco is worth more, because based on appearances and goals he has done better, and we don’t need to sell him.”

€40m:lol::lol::lol2::lol2::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

come on man Mirko is a big reason why we got this scudetto, he was so instrumental in these last 10 fixtures. giovinco would fold even without pressure. provincial player, and those who ranked his prospect behind miccoli were right.

Mirko was what, 27, 28 when he came to Juve? Giovinco was 21-22 when he played for us, when we had a very influential Del Piero who he couldnt displace from the team.

Stating he's provincial because of that is ridiculous.

no hes a provincial player because only a provincial side was interested in his services, for good measure too. Coaches and scouts all agree on that designation. On the other hand, Mirko plays for the itlaian champions, and he was a big part of making that happen. To say that the midget is better is what is really ridiculoous here.
