I don't know how I feel 'bout this dude....I like but I don't like him. Must be because he's short..Anyways we should ditch his miserable short ass for someone like Reus\Ayew\Ramirez...you know someone that taller than a meter.

To be fair Pepe is far more physical. If that's what Conte is looking for, then I don't see why Pepe won't bench Giovinco for that particular spot. But Conte has been very flexible this season so far (the change from 4-2-4 to 4-3-3- and 3-5-2), there's a possibility a reinforcement in attack could make him revamp the system so Gio could fit in.

At this right moment, I wouldn't bench Pepe for Giovinco too.

Vucinic, though? That's another story and I don't see why couldn't he possibly replace him in the starting eleven if he proved to deserve it in Conte's head. Vucinic is way too incosistent to be considered a sure starter (he just is considered like that atm because we lack quality flair in our roster).

P.S.: The only way of Giovinco benching Pepe and playing alongside two strikers would be against the very small teams.

Licht has the right side on lockdown. If Gio takes the place of Pepe (which he should), then Vidal is right there to regulate right next to Licht if needed. Pepe works hard yes, but the creativity Gio would provide this team and our attack along with his vision would far outweigh whatever Pepe does.

A front 3 of Mikro-Matri-Gio would see a lot of movement & creativity from both sides. Mirko & Gio would be switching all game as the build up calls for. Also, Pepe has a knack for killing our flow going forward, especially when he has possession. His first touch often lets him (and us) down.

Starting Gio over Pepe should be a no brainer. Not sure why it's even being questioned.

Also, just as easily as Marchisio has been given a different role than last year, Vidal isn't doing the same as he did at Leverkusen and Pepe is no longer an out and out winger in a 442, the same could be given to Gio.

There is no reason why his role couldn't be altered, as in tracking back more and helping out defensively in regaining possesion. It's up to Conte to fine tune Gio into the lineup.

there are many small players who played well in great teams, and they fit well when they are backed by solid midfield and defense.
I've watched a couple of games of italy 82, I'm not saying that we have similar quality but they face alot better teams offensively. with Conti on the middle of the pitch and they managed to beat everybody.

No way would I bench Pepe for Giovinco. IF he comes back, he can be a sub for Vucinic.
If thats because of Giovinco's lack of defense then you could basically say that Pepe would bench all of the stars around Europe that don't have Pepe's work rate if they came to Juventus.

And Pepe's work rate is getting a bit overrated. If anything, I'm impressed by his runs into the penalty box and how he gets into good situations.

Gio would give us an edge up front for sure. Take some of the burden off of Mirko and we would have 2 tricky players providing for Matri, that way Matri won't be getting as isolated anymore.
