Dusan, I totally agree with your general position on Italy mismanaging their youth - 100%. It's demonstrated over and over, and over again; it's time the Italian game woke the fuck up. Develop your youth, and save some of the $ to add some additional proven quality. Mediocre roster players making too much money kills teams... and it's hurt us quite a bit. Get that youth involved!
I was always impressed by Rossi as well... definitely thought he'd get more of a shake, especially considering our weaknesses.
One thing to add... we do have De Ceglie, who Zac trusts (23) and Candreva (23) for the moment - so those guys fall into your Marchisio youth category. Which doesn't really mean anything, considering they're still already 23.
Edit: Forgot Caceres here as well, at 22. Even if he isn't ours, and isn't an Italian himself...
I posted because I just wanted to point out that Giovinco hasn't been fully fit for nearly all of Zac's time at Juventus. Because of this, I think it's too early to say whether or not Zac is anti-Seba. Time will tell if Giovinco becomes a regular, but for me, there are currently only 2 Juventus managers who have completely discounted Seba's skills: Ranieri, and Ciro.
Was he really injured? Nobody heard a thing of him for like weeks and there was nothing on Juve site. Nah, I'm not into conspiracy theories now.
I still believe that those are being fielded because he has no other choice. Candreva is here for some time and we might even buy him but that doesn't change anything. We used him because we saw the potential in that guy. We use De Ceglie only sometimes, like when Grosso was injured. Caceres is also here on a loan deal and he was getting chances next to a stable tree, Grygera.
It still doesn't change the fact that we (or any other Italian club) is using their youth players. If we had only Amauri available for example, we'd change the formation and play him as a lone striker. Zac or anything other wouldn't even think of playing Immobile. We badly need(ed) width on the pitch and I'll say again BADLY but no, why would we give a chance to Fausto? He's only 19 or what and plus, he played a couple of times and he was impressive. I mean, why should we give him a chance?
Prandelli has nothing to do with this. You seriously think he's any better when it comes to it? Why? Because he's playing Jovetic? No, he's just like any other Italian coach who only thinks of having experienced players who run like headless chickens so he could close down the opponent. He's using Jovetic because he has to. It's not like he has some other choice.
The only coach who gave a chance to youth players is Mourinho and even him did not do it properly. Balotelli played many matches while Santon is on their bench at least, comes on sometimes. In Milan? Nobody. Oh wait, they do have Abate...
Roma? Nobody. Palermo is doing it and Udinese is doing it but it doesn't change much. Top clubs rely on 30 year olds and that's pretty much it. I want to see some coach who will change the whole system once and for all and that is not Prandelli. Something new is needed in Serie A. Coach is just the starting point.
For the sake of Italian football they must use the time machine and move from the 90s already.
And also, you don't do shit if you buy Ranocchia for 15mln euros. The job is done when you buy Pepe for 300k, who's price goes to 30mln in 2 years time. The job is when you get Cissokho for 200k and sell him for 15mln. It's how you develop somebody fast and make great players from them in 1 year. The only way you'll get to see them in Italy is when they come as 29yo, considered as youth players, others rejects et cetera.
