FUCK EVERYTHING! Now can anybody explain to me why Giovinco isn't playing? He came in the 85th minute and created more then what the team created before and was behind everything. Im sick and tired of this..Ranieri and Ciro are two idiots and what they are doing to our little fella should be considered as a crime, a black mark in their pathetic CV's.

He should leave the club but he's to loyal. If this was Amauri, Diego Trezeguet or any other normal player who was benched they would go bitching about it in the media but Giovinco is to loyal for that. I wish he could speak out about it. DEFEND YOURSELF JOE VINCO!

To be fair, he has spoken out, if you recall...that whole "If I was from Brazil" comment.

However, he really proved a point today. 5-6 minutes of time and he really staked a claim to a starting spot, I think (and this from someone who doesn't even rate him as highly as the rest here).

Hope he continues in the same manner.

At the start of the season I was sure that if anybody would use Giovinco it's Ferrara, which is not the case right now.

However after today's game we need a change and it has to start with Giovinco being a starter on the left wing.

How depressing was it in the 10th minute to see the shot of the bench with Camo sitting next to a hidden player completely covered in a hood and puffy jacket, you couldn't even see Seba's FACE! It was a perfect symbol for this syndrome that hasn't fostered and allowed him to grow. Unless he is on crutches, he should be starting as Marcello said. We need new blood and skill. Of course if he doesn't lite it up right away people will criticize but it's enough of excuses.

I rate him ridiculously high but if he's not going to play then send him and 10 million to Samp for Cassano. Personally, I'd do that anyway.

I mentioned this before in the Catania game thread i think. Imo gio should be given a good run (even from the bench) as a striker. The problem with him there is his lack of physicality, positioning and scoring. But he should be tried in this position with Diego behind him because he has some attributes that could make him successful. So why not

Maybe we could try alternating Diego & Giovinco.
Play 1 true striker (we all know who I'm talking about here, especially based on current form) and couple him with both Diego & Gio. Both could then "take turns" in playing further up front.

I don't think playing Giovinco as a true striker or attacker will do him any good, precisely because of the reasons you just mentioned.

Now this just pisses me off. This guy had Italy's biggest talent by far and he never played him. Giovinco dominated games and was productive as hell yet he never got the chance to start the game after, and now he's admiring Roma's youth?

Ranieri admires Roma youth

Claudio Ranieri hailed Roma’s youth academy after two youngsters scored in the 3-0 Europa League victory.

Alessio Cerci bagged a brace away to CSKA Sofia this evening, while 17-year-old substitute Filippo Maria Scardina marked his Euro debut with a late goal.

“It is not difficult for a Coach to find young talent at Roma, as this club has always raised some excellent players,” said Ranieri.

“This outfit has a wonderful youth sector, talent scouts, trainers and a football academy, so the Coach is spoilt for choice.

“That’s not to say the young players should get ahead of themselves, but I am keeping an eye on their progress.

“Cerci actually frightened me a bit, as he was so eager to prove himself that I needed to calm him down. I’m happy for him.”

Well, he's obviously no coach who should be talking about young players. He failed to give Gio the chance when he was performing and he failed to see the potential in Criscito and because of him we might never get Criscito back.

but come on ... nedved was crucial in many games and if he was one key to our grit and heart in those games you can not blame him, for playing nedved instead of giovinco...

Let's not kid ourselves, Nedved wasn't that good his last season and he retired at the perfect time.
