As I said Renieri was a douch, never liked him, There was no reason for him not to play Gio, On the other hand , with Ciro I can see the logic behind it but it dosnt mean I'm not disappointed.

It has nothing to do with being hypocritical, You can still be disappointed with someone you had high hopes for.

Well, what is the logic behind not playing Gio if you are Ferrara?

Win at all costs, right? With the best stating XI that you can put on the field, right?


So, if as everyone says, that Giovinco is undoubtedly one of the best XI, then what is the reason for Ferrara not playing him?

You don't think I'm as curious aas everyone esle on thsi forum and in Juve Land??

I want to see the team win, with the best players on the pitch.

But there is a reason, a more concrete reason why Giovinco is not starting regularly, and nobody seems to know why

The person to thank was Abramovich, not Ranieri. People call him a great team builder, player developer, but I think that's all nonsense. He showed nothing of the sort here at Juventus, that's for sure.

Ferrara said at the beginning of the season that the 4-3-1-2 was what he wanted to use, which means Diego would naturally play as the one with two strikers in front of him. I don't think he likes the 4-2-3-1 as much, which is much better suited for Joe Vinko.

Yes it is, but are you forgetting that he was instrumental in bring Lampard, Gallas, Joe Cole, Glen Johnson on board to Chelsea, all of whom were young players when he purchased them, as well as helping John Terry develop into the player that he has become?


People say that he is incompetent as a manger, and I'm not disputing that, but he does, or at least did, have an eye for young talent and bringing out the best in them.

You need to consider one thing though.

Renieri has a weak spot for strong,atlethic,run 90 mintues, type of players.
Why else he also bought Sissoko, Poulsen and kept on playing Molinaro ?

All Abramovich did was give him the funds to get the players. He had no say in how these players were developed under Ranieir's watch.

But, during last year's bad spells, when a change of tactics was needed, Giovinco was rarely called upon, even though he would have perfect to give the team a change of pace.

Only when a "Change of Pace" was obviously necessary would Giovinco get called upon.


Now, we are in a similar situation where there is no creativity, no spark, whatsoever, and Giovinco gets one match, and his ass is back to the bench.

I'm not saying off with his head yet, he should get the time to prove himself, But only to some extent and not on the account of the club.

I get it that you are trying to find a logical reason for this matter, and I usally do the same.

But i'v seen so many basic tactical/selection mistakes in the past three years that i'm no longer in that "the coach knows better cause his professional" group.

Its football, not math, and no the coach dosnt always know better.

He came to a stable club with a proven system in terms of training and play style, Every thing was already ticking like a swiss clock, he only had to show up and keep the players motivated and in gear.

Ciro, has very bad medical staff, mediocer training coaches and no formation/play style to improve upon. Every thing from scratch in one of the most demending clubs in the world.

The board went riding on the "Pep effect" train.

Its for sure much more their fault then Ciro's.

I dont know if its cause they wanted to save on wages or to have a "yes" man as a coach, or maybe they truly belived in him.

In either case it starting to look like a bad call indeed.

Although I didn't think he was the right man for this job, I am certainly not Anti-Ferrara.

IF that were the case, then I would be wishing for him to fail, and in turn, the team would fail as a result.

There has to be a reason to why coaches don't use Giovinco much.

I suspect it might be something to do with his efforts in training and his general attitude.

I'm sure they all realise his quality, but maybe his discipline is lacking.
