I don't know if you've watched our game against Maccabi but we've played probably one of our best games against them (specially in the first half). And what have changed in our team ?! Our tactics and formation.
The problem is we're not struggling right now because we have an injury crisis or lack of motivation. We're simply not getting the best out of our players (diego, melo and the rest). The 4-3-1-2 formation is not working well with us it doesn't take a rocket scientist to reallize that.
So we either gonna play that way for the rest of the season and scratch out a win (if we're lucky) the way we did against the likes of Siena and chievo or lucky draws against bayern munich and bordeaux. But one thing is for sure, if we keep playing that way "we will not" win anything Neither in italy or Europe.
Are you serious? You think we played our best game against against a team we should have beaten like 5-0? I wasn't impressed at all. We scraped a 1-0 victory against a 10 man team we should have pounded into next week. That was definitely not our best performance of the season. Sure we looked good against a bunch of nobodies but Samp will be looking to prove a point and they're much better then any Maccabi Haifa side.
Sure Giovinco looked good running at bad defenders but it was definitely not our best performance of the season. Saying that it was just shows you don't know much about this team or their current form or even football in general. Juventus beating Maccabi 1-0 is not and will never be a good result for us. We should be demolishing them.
Facts are facts and scraping a 1-0 win against Maccabi Haifa in the 2nd half is not our best performance of the season so far. The three points help us out in the CL but a 1-0 for a team of our caliber against a team of their caliber is sad. We should have won by a much larger margin.
Sorry to bust your bubble but 4-3-1-2 is what you're going to be seeing for quite a while. We don't have the depth to use a 4-2-3-1 any more then sporadically. No backup wingers and bad fullbacks. That's a recipe for disaster. We still need time to gel with the new players and formation. Changes like these don't just happen over night. A lot has changed in a short period of time. We won't get the best out of our players either if we keep chopping and changing everything week in and week out. We need consistency and to build confidence in the players but also need them to have confidence in each other.
There is a reason we have only used the 4-2-3-1 once. It's not going to be what we're building this team into 1. And it leaves our shaky defense more vulnerable than it already is 2. Some people expect miracles with this team. This isn't the team from 5 or 6 years ago it's something completely new and thus needs time to find it's own identity and playing style.
