Molinaro isnt better then Alves defensively. The reverse, if you actually bother to observe Alves outside his brilliant attacking, he is a quite underrated defender.
I've watched no less than 60% of Barcelona's games this season and there is no way to say Alves is underrated defensively, he is below average at very best.

Barcelona's playing style of keeping the game at the opponent half with quick passing and pressing makes the likes of Alves less exposed defensively... let him play for any other team in the world but Barcelona and he would look horrible.

I rate Alves highly but I would never want a player of his caliber at Juventus.

Fuck me side wise, but did you just say you wouldnt want an insanely obvious world class player in Juventus?

I saw him and rated him highly even before you knew whether he is Brazilian or Zimbabwean.

Alves was never a good deffender... NEVER.
I'm sure you did. Because no one else knew he was at Bahia before Sevilla or even heard about his exploits at the 03 Fifa World Youth Championships. He was after all one of the best players in the tournament.

He is a wing back and for a good reason. The ridiculously obvious fact that he has very good attacking skills. He loves getting forward and isn't afraid to take on his man, he can put good crosses in and he does his job defensively. Is he the the best defender that plays RB? No, but he more then makes up for it in other areas.

To say you wouldn't want a world class RB at Juve just shows how foolish you are.

If you have to pick between a 25 years old Thuram and today's D.Alves.

What's gonna be?

I'd sign him as a MR.
Actually, in our situation i'd be more than happy to sign him even as a RB because the ones we have there aren't any better than him even defensively, but if i can make my own team, Alves will never get even close to being a candidate for RB.

Overrated as a defender only because he plays in Barcelona.
But i'm not surprised at all.

Unfortunately there are no 25 year old Thuram's around. You show me the new Thuram and I'll tell you to sign him.

We can't live in 'la la land' here. We cannot go out and buy a new Thuram or a new Del Piero. Those types of players simply aren't on the market. It is unattainable. I think this is our boards problem too. Too hung up on building the OLD Juventus. The old Juve is gone, sorry, we have a few left but they will also be leaving soon. We need to get our heads from out of our asses and build a NEW team. You can't build a new team with retired players.

But yeah I'm kinda confused anyway. Are you talking about a strictly fantasy point of view or are you trying to be realistic with a question like that? That's like me asking you 'Would you take Trez from 5 years ago or Trez from today?'

It's quite rhetorical really...

We are not comparing him to Zebina or Grygera, Alen.

Signing a 25 years old Thuram is more realistic than signing D.Alves.

CR dont want to play him cos he does'nt wants to ruin him
WTF? :shifty: If you were being sarcastic, then that's fine. I don't even want to think that you were being serious; otherwise, you are more delusional and hopeless as regards defending Ranieri than even I thought possible. If that is indeed the case, you are beyond the point of no return!

Er no. "presento" means to present. And I think the sign say "If you give me your shirt I will present you with (give you) ...." something that is not captured in the picture.
