Del Piero: Giovinco to take my place...in 5 years :delpiero:

http://www.lastampa.it/sport/cmsSezioni/quijuve/200812articoli/18206girata.asp

Translation:
Giovinco was sincere or just ingratiating when he said he was learning everything from you?
He doesn't have any reason to ingratiate. In 5 years I can't be at my best and Giovinco will take my place: the future is his and is Marchisio and De Ceglie's.

If ADP is serious, can we actually take this as a compliment and affirmation to Giovinco. LOL.

Haha, Ale is funny, 5 fucking years?

Though not to doubt him, I have too much in the past and he has proven me wrong every single time. But this more of a joke then really thinking he will still go strong at 39 :D Though no reason why they shouldnt play together.

Seriously. If we were going to let Giovinco rot on the bench like this, he could have stayed on loan with Empoli in B or Siena in A for that matter.

Giovinco wins Alex backing

Saturday 27 December, 2008

Alex Del Piero has told Sebastian Giovinco that he’ll one day inherit the Juventus No 10 shirt – but he’ll have to be patient.

The Under-21 international is a rising star in the Italian game and has inevitably been likened to the Old Lady skipper.

And although Del Piero does believe that Giovinco has the X-factor, he’s going to have to wait for his chance.

“I won’t be here in five years,” noted the 34-year-old. “But Giovinco will be. The future is his, along with [teammates] Claudio Marchisio and Paolo De Ceglie.”

Del Piero, the 2008 top scorer in Serie A with 20 goals, is enjoying another excellent campaign and has his sights on the Scudetto and Champions League for 2009.

He is with the squad, learning from better players and integrating himself with the day to day running of the club as he prepares to be a protagonist for the club...that in my opinion is far better than being on loan to some team fighting for relegation or stuck in mid table
