Seba close to Juve extension
Tuesday 30 September, 2008
Juventus starlet Sebastian Giovinco is poised to put pen to paper on a contract extension.

The Azzurrini ace is seen as one of Europe's most exciting rising talents and he could be a crucial foundation for Juve's future.

However, Giovinco has been targeted by a number of other sides, including Arsenal and he has been reticent to extend his commitment to the Old Lady.

This season could be Seba's breakthrough campaign and his agent has revealed that he is keen to receive guarantees that he will play first-team football - assurances that the Bianconeri aren't willing to offer.

But the latest reports suggest that Giovinco is ready to extend his contract until 2013 with a starting salary of around £650,000 plus bonuses.

“We will have to see what happens,” agent Alessandro D'Amico stated.

“There has been no direct contact with any other club in Italy or overseas and there's no problem with Claudio Ranieri - Giovinco will get his chance and he has shown that he can stay at Juve.”

really?

well you're right, ranieri is doing a much better job right now. coaching his team to score an avg of 1 goal per game and averaging 1pt per match for the first 4-5 matches is a great coaching job. especially against teams that don't deserve that kind of glory against us.

you're logic is impeccable

Deschamps wasn't cruising in Serie B either. Most of our wins were 1-0 wins.....and that was Serie B.

I still wanted Deshcmaps to stay though.

but its all relative. deschamps was playing in B where his players were disenchanted to play. whereas ranieri is in A, he has "unlimited" resources to acquire any player he wants and he has a much better squad to work with. he has no excuses IMO.

but i'm not saying that one coach is better than the other particularly, i just don't like that idiot comment the other kid made

If you want to compare them
I think it's obvious Deschamps is better than Ranieri
Look at the CL Semi Final 03/04 when Monaco (Deschamps) beat Chelsea (Ranieri) although Monaco played with 10 players
At that time Monaco has limited transfer budget and Ranieri has unlimited transfer budget with the arrival of Abramovich

And look at Deschamps in Serie B, he left by a lot of our star players and only bought Boumsong (4 mill Euros) when Bojinov is came before his arrival as Juve's coach...Also he made some players shine like Marchisio, Gio, DC, Vennitucci...He didn't afraid to rotate players and plays some young players

And look at Ranieri, he has spent a lot of transfer budget in this 2 seasons. And the players we bought not made us better (Andrade, Almiron, Tiago, Moli, Nocerino, Criscito)...Only IQ and Sissoko is better transfer...and Poulsen, Amauri still need to prove more...Knezevic, Mellberg, Grygera, Sali come with cheap price or free...Also look at our starting eleven last season...Is it our starting eleven in Serie B (except Moli and Nocerino, while Nocerino substituted by Sissoko in season half)....And now is our new players who has been essential is DC, Marchisio, and Gio and the 3 of them is our primavera players who is shine under Deschamps...(other than Amauri of course)

So based on that i don't think we improve our squad by the money we spent in this 2 years (72 mill Euros last season and 40.2 mill Euros this season approximately)...What a shame for our management... I think Man City is better than us in case spend the money to bring players
