You're right Gio does deserve some recognition for what he has accomplished, and he did evolve as a player during his spell at Parma.
But comparing Pepe with Gio isn't fair at all. Pepe isn't a creative player, he's a workhorse and he has an important role in this Juve side, and that isn't a role Gio would be able to take over.
Gio for Vucinic wouldn't be a bad idea....but I personally don't like the Gnome and would rather him stay at Parma. Either ways my opinion doesn't matter let's see what Marotta does during this summer.
Oh and Pepe has very strong chance of accomplishing a historic feat with this Juve that Gio can only dream of
