the problem is, that most of the time his dribbling ends like this

and it can't be our tactic to just gain freekicks which del piero can slam into the wall...
better then watching pepe dribble around like a headless chicken

I pray him to stay with us and play for us on a regular basis.
Ultimately I want him to stay, As U plan on gettin his kit

I disagree, one of his strong points is that he goes past opponents early and uses his pace instead of becoming one of the increasing number of step over merchants in world football.

The free kicks he wins usually get opponents carded early and they're in good areas.

:lol2:

I see what you mean, he does that sometimes. But dribbling isn't his main strength, he uses his speed more.

Still, I guess there's something wrong with the guy.

it really depends on where he is playing ... when he plays in the middle it was very often that the opponent used the odd tactical foul when gio got past them to stop our gameflow and thus gave the opponent time to reorganize the defense...

if he is deployed strictly on the wing then yes, you are right. he will go past defenders more often because they are more cautious there, but the problem is ... the left wing position deployed in our formation will find him often helping out in defense and receiving the ball in the midway line which will show the first scenario that he will get pushed off the ball most of the time.

the only position i see him effective is the left winger of a 4-3-3 which relieves him from most of the defensive work and does not afford him to track back that far

He has done well, showed more than glimpses of true talent, in the majority of games I have seen him play. The spanish are a decent example of the usefulness of diminutive speedy skill merchants...he has wicked pace, more flair than anyone else in the team, other than Diego and DP, can put decent crosses into the box, pass a man, take free kicks, and is young. We have a dearth of such players, not a surplus.

Firstly...its disgusting how much time on the field DP has had, in recent times, when Gio, who could play in the same areas as DP ,has been given fuck-all time...

Secondly...its strange that the reality seems to be that del neri has not even bothered to give him a chance to shine in the friendlies, or am i mistaken here???? That seems like lunacy. That his mind was already made up before even meeting Giovinco and the rest of the squad....strange, given giovinco was a healthy, lively part of the juve formation which ripped del neri's samp apart last season...

Its very odd indeed, for a young player, to look consistently useful, when given bit part roles sporadically...but to then see him discarded like this.

What is there I am missing?????

I wonder why he has not been given a single chance to play. It seems that it's already decided that he is not worthy enough for Del Neri. Even the previous coaches trusted him more than Del Neri. It's a pity.

sad. when I first saw him I thought we had found DP's replacement . I still have faith he's capable of doing that. :bigscarf:

Hmm. Giovinco came back into training early because? oh yeah he was injured.

Until I see Giovinco coming out saying anything, I'll continue to ignore his agent because he's just wanting the cut of a transfer fee.
Is Giovinco recovering from an injury?

Exactly.
