First off, allow me to apologize for using the term "OK, Genius". That was in bad taste and I'm sorry for that.

I get extremely frustrated how the term "Juve Material" is thrown around, when there is no conrete definition of what that means.

The reason why he has calmed down is because he finally has found parental/father figures in his life through the last couple of coaches, and he has been able to get his life in order.

I can only imagine what it must be like for a 17 year old to be called "The Jewel of Old Bari", and have to deal with such expectations, considering he came from a broken home.

Now that might sound like an excuse, but I don't think very many of us have walked a mile in those types of shoes.

He's grwon up, he's matured, he's found peace in his life.

More importantly, at the age of 27, he is still well within his prime years, especially considering that his game is not built on speed, it is built on everything else. Therefore, he could very well perform like this for the next 7 years, provided that he stays healthy

Its a bad term indeed, but what other term can one use ? without wrighting a full page post attempting to explain it ?

I think the poll is a no brainer. Cassano is simply better than Giovinco, and unfortunately, Giovinco has given us no reason to believe he can really play at a world class level. He's just not that good yet. Also, Cassano could fit in a formation including Diego in it, Gio can't. Idealy, Giovinco will stay and we still get Cassano, but if it came right down to it, Cassano is definitely worth it.

Cassano, at the ages of 19 and 20, was an integral part of a Roma sqaud that was challenging for the Scudetto. That speaks volumes for the talent that he has.

No it doesn't. I always wanted youth players here and I'm still in that place. Still, that doesn't change anything in this case. There is no reason to keep some if other player is better who can offer much more to us. When it comes down to this you consider only ; who's better, who can offer more. Both would be Cassano, he can still play for 5 more years.

Would you get Ribery instead of De Ceglie? Yes you would. It's a different case but it gives an example.

That's true. He got whole world watching him when used to play for Bari when he was what, 19? He was great in Roma, but duo to too many problems it had to be Madrid, otherwise it'd be different, if he had a clean head.

Let me remind you that I was against Cassano's move 2 years ago because of his attitude, but now, there's simply no reason why would some reject that move. I at least think he's different now, he even starting with training 2 weeks earlier then the rest of the team this season.

Failed, because of his head, not bad matches. He had a fight with everyone. Center of attention? I don't think so since he used to play against Totti on his prime and Batistuta.

Here's what troubles me with Giovinco's situation.

He's 22. He's not a youthful prospect or a potential footballing genius. He's not 17 anymore. This is when he should be spinning heads with every single performance if he's going to make it at this club. Juve are all about winning and always have been, we don't nurture young talents at the price of success. Simply stated, Giovinco has thus far come up short in proving he deserves a starting place in this team.

I think Giovinco is one of the most talented youths of Italy today, he can be absolutely brilliant at times. Believe me, I'm a huge fan of his, I used to watch Italy U 21 games just to watch him play. And it really pisses me off he doesn't get more playing time. The problem is that he's not very consistent, he can throw in a colossal performance one game and completely disappear the very next game. If we want to be Champions League contenders, we cannot afford to have any inconsistent players. With Cassano, you know what you're getting. A better, more experienced, and even more creative player. Why should I say no to that?

He did not fail at Roma. He had a falling out, mostly due to his petulant attitude. He had nearly 40 goals in 120 matches between the ages of 19-22 for a squad that was competing for the Scudetto and plyaing in the Champions league.

The Real Madrid move was an unmitigated disaster that never should have happened to begin with.

How many play makers do you need? You can never have enough play makers on a team. Never.

The only guarantees in life are death and taxes.

But if you look at it from a different point of view, I think he realizes now that his actions, if he were to revert back to his old ways, would practically assure him that he never wears the Italian Jersey again, and that he will end up playing in Saudi Arabia 9 years before he should.

My questions to the people who have voted "no" are this

#1) Did you vote no because you feel that Giovinco is more talented than Cassano, and therefore a better player?

#2) Is it because Giovinco is someone who has grown through the youth system, and want to see as many home grwon products as possible?

#3) You just don't think Cassano is that good, and would do nothing to be of benefit to the current squad?

#4) Are you concerned that his arrival would mean less palying time for a certain someone whose name rhymes with Bell Valero?

Giovincos case is sad. The kid has lot of potential and talent. In many ways last year was the year he should have showed his potential, since before that he was in Empoli. But Ranieri hardly gave him time.

And now we argue how he doesnt deliver, yet a player needs playing time to improve. In some ways with the signing of Diego, its even harder for Giovinco. Its still not quite sure what position suits him most, in italy u-20s side he plays AM, yet with Juve he clearly seems to produce better when playing on that left wing (aka the game against Chelsea).

I think Gio doesnt have the body to become AM.

With Cassano we win the CL? Cassano wouldn't bring us shit, it's not Messi or Ronaldo we are talking about. It's fucking Cassano who has been off the radar and forgotten for years and is now performing good. We have Del Piero who is better yet I don't see us winning the CL.

Giovinco is a potential bandiera, Cassano is a potential psycho.

And why is people doubting Giovinco after like 3 games as a trequartista? The guy is obviously a winger.
