I thought he did well overall. His finishing does leave a lot to be desired, though. It's a huge worry. But I definitely don't see a reason why he should be flamed after tonight's performance. Not that that's going on, but just saying

His passing is the most frustrating part of his game to me. I want to give him Credit for getting into Great scoring position 3 times today, but its hard when he finishing is so poor.

As for the folk speaking about him shooting too centrally, presumably regarding the shot from quite close in that the keeper saved: I thought Giovinco actually had quite a small target area for that shot and couldn't go for the corners because he had people diving in to block the shot from both sides.

How many times do I have to explain to you that those passing percentages don't mean shit when its about the strikers? You do understand that they attempt only difficult passes with all their flicks and passes through defenders to each other while having a defender pressuring in their back? Its not like a defender or midfielder who can boost his stats by passing to the defender next to him in the build up. Only a moron would compare Gio/Matri/Vucinic pass success % with Barzagli passing the ball to Bonucci or Marchisio passing the ball to Pirlo when nobody is around.
