No mate, the 500 000 eur are ok for a start.
That's how all the Italian teams work with the youngsters who are playing their first serie A season for the team.
Just take a look at our last year wages and how much we were paying the young Italian players. All were getting less than 1m, even Chiellini.
It was the same with all the other teams from Italy. Balloteli, Pato, Hamsik, Aquilani....they were all earning less than seniors like Favalli, Birindelli, Solari or Kuffour.

That's like a tradition that will do a lot of problems to everyone if we go against it. The youngsters need to prove themselves first and then ask for a fat contract. Chiellini and Aquilani earned that right and now they won't be earning less than Birindelli or Kuffour.
Giovinco will undoubtedly earn that right this season and next year he can freely ask for a better contract, like Chiellini did.
Ok I see your point. But in todays game, the big for can offer huge amounts of money on wages just to get the player they want. I understand it's tradition but in the world of today where other teams 'magnets' are bigger and stronger don't you think it would be best just to satisfy our players wants just to stay on the safe side?

I can't believe people can be so naive. This is just one in the line of many Goal.com blunders. Sometimes they make fake news just in order to piss off naive Juventus fans. It is obvious by now, that many will release their childish anger by reading that piece of news. Easiest way to attract public. Just don't pay any attention to such articles.

If you don't believe my words, just go check the number of comments posted on the article. Already 105. :lol2: Tells you something, doesn't it? ;)

Sooner or later some English or Spanish team will steal a young star from Juve, Roma, Inter or Milan (i'm not talking about the 15 yo juniors, but a 20/21 yo player) and the Italian giants will have to change their policy regarding the youngsters. They'll start paying them more money.
But until that happens i'm sure the Italians will continue working like this. I believe there is a gentlmen's deal between the Italian teams not to exaggerate with youngster's wages and that's why the situation's like this.

You know, if our 4 youngsters (Gio, Marchisio, DC and Ekdal) earn 500K per year it means that Juve are paying 4m a year for their wages (including taxes). But if we offer them 2m a year we'll have to pay 16m only for their wages. The difference is 12m a year.
With the poor financial state (compared to the English and the Spanish) of the Italian teams, paying the youngsters high wages is the last thing they can allow.
That's why they came with this solution to keep their wages low until they prove themselves at top level.

But like i said, it's a matter of time until some of them get burned and changes will have to be made.

People think we missed out on Pepe, Vargas, Lampard, Deco and many many others because they read that we were linked with them on goal.com

my question was if you were in Secco's position! so you'd still have all teh control and make choices. so im sure YOU wont buy Comotto and Dalla Bona.
Aah ok, If they offered 50 mil. then yes I would take it, and do something a la Moggi, sign 2 or 3 World Class players to secure Juve's future

:lol2:

-rep for posting a shitty goal.com article.
- rep for giving a lousy answer

and then everybody stop posting news articles because everything is bullshit.

from the 500 players we were linked with we only get 4 every year. (you get the point)

so every body don't post anything and just watch the official juventus site.

My point is that goal.com is worse than most.

I won't complain when goal.com reports a story from a recognised source, but when it doesn't give a source or quotes it is not worth posting and just results in yet another page of folk shouting 'fuck Secco' as loud as they can.

I shall continue to -rep those who post goal.com articles which do not specify a source.

Why cant we wait until x-mas and decide then if Giovinco is worthy of a pay raise or not??
As far as i know, his contract isnt about to expire...
Why are you against Giovinco now? Is it because this board have faith in him so you have to be negative about it?

Yes, if goal.com specify their source, however unreliable, it is different.

And if Secco is so bad there is no need to abuse him when he has done nothing wrong, which is what happen when these articles appear.
