President Franzo Grande Stevens cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of the Juventus Summer Village dedicated to the fans, located only a few steps away from the training pitch. Many are the initiatives to entertain the numerous fans that, as usual, will be following the team.

Patrick Vieira is Bianconero! The strong midfielder of the French National Team is officially a Juventus player. It is a comeback to Italy for Patrick, as he already played here in the season 1995/1996 for Milan AC. The following year, when he was still very young, he moved to Arsenal where he became definitively successful. Born in Dakar, Senegal, twenty-nine-years old, agile and powerful, Vieira is a player with unquestionable technical qualities along with a remarkable sense of sacrifice and competitiveness which, in the nine years spent in Premier League, have made him one of the most complete midfielders in the world.

Fixtures: Juve handed Chievo opener Tuesday 16 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Italian champions Juventus will open their title defence against Chievo as the new season fixtures were compiled.

The fixture list was finally drawn up this evening, just hours after Treviso and Ascoli’s ‘promotion’ to Serie A was confirmed.

They were inserted in the top-flight after the demotion of Genoa to Serie C for match-fixing and Torino’s financial collapse and subsequent fall to Serie B.

Ascoli face a mammoth opening day task as they will entertain Milan, while Inter host fellow new boys Treviso.

The opening day will also see Fiorentina meet Sampdoria, while Parma will welcome Palermo.

The new campaign will kick off on Saturday 27 August with two games, with the rest taking place 24 hours later.

Week 1
Ascoli-Milan
Fiorentina-Sampdoria
Inter-Treviso
Juventus-Chievo
Lazio-Messina
Livorno-Lecce
Parma-Palermo
Reggina-Roma
Siena-Cagliari
Udinese-Empoli

I am sorry that we don`t see Genoa in serie A this season. They have a lot of tradition.
I am somehow also sorry for Torino. It would have been great to defeat them in the Derby:)

Does anybody know if Treviso is allowed to play their home games in their own stadium? I red somewhere that their stadium is too small for serie A football and that they perhaps have to move to Trieste or somewhere else.
