I really don't agree.

1. It's the SFA rule of the cup to split receipts, if it was East Stirlingshire going with 100 fans they would still get the 50%, if it was at Ibrox Dundee Utd would get 50%. Just because they do not intend to bring their fans does not mean they shouldn't get revenue IMO.
2. Why should the game not be televised? What about other fans who cannot make the match?
3. From Rangers pov I do not think they have done anything wrong. The Dundee Utd chairman has repeatedly talked badly about the club, they voted against them and there is a lot of bad blood from Utd making their fans pay full price for tickets for a replay of a game which was abandoned.
4. Really fail to see what they have done that is so wrong, there fans are entitled to decide what games they go to, why should Rangers buy tickets for a game that they know they cannot sell to their fans. Charles Green is doing everything to win over the fans and is doing a good job at that.

I am quite impressed with Rangers for doing this, they have their principals, the club is backing their fans (which very few do where money is involved) and instead of just talking about what they will do they are actually doing something about it even though it may jeopardise their chances of victory.

If 'Rangers' had taken an allocation and their fans had decided to boycott the game, I wouldn't have objected to the gate being split. It's that this is an official, club-sanctioned boycott that makes this different. A wee team taking a few hundred to Ibrox and getting half the gate money is very much in the spirit of the cup. What 'Rangers' are doing very much isn't.

It shouldn't be televised because that would only stand to encourage such behaviour.

I don't recall Thompson being particularly critical of Rangers/'Rangers'. The fans are welcome to boycott because of the abandoned game thing, but the club is doing this to send a message to SPL clubs who merely enforced the rules in the summer not allowing 'Rangers' into the SPL.

Green is indeed doing a good job of getting the huns onside. He'll use that to fool them into buying into the share issue, then he'll laugh all the way to the bank and leave 'Rangers' to whoever else wants them.

'Rangers' are also shooting themselves in the foot by doing this.

By not buying tickets, they are removing one of the sources of their power over SPL clubs, who will now have one less reason to do anything to help them back up through the leagues.

Still, good to see they haven't learnt a thing from the summer. You can't complain about how you are treated when you base your relationship with others on intimidation.

Also, why didn't the huns boycott Tannadice last season, if they were so upset about not getting refunds?

Anyway, I see 'Rangers' have announced they will be giving their half of the gate to charity.

Why didn't they announce that at the time the announced the boycott?

One would almost think they were trying to pull a fast one and have only done this after being told it really wasn't on.

Maybe their donation will go to a hospital or something. You know, the sort of organisation they had been denying cash for years by not paying taxes.

Ryan Fraser has rejected Aberdeen's contract offer.

Hope the kid likes reserve/youth football, because that's all he'll be playing in the foreseeable future if he goes to England.

I see Jim Traynor (cunt) has made the logical move from being an unofficial spokesman for 'Rangers' to becoming Communications Director at 'Rangers'.

At least that means he won't be on the radio any more.

Both looked fair enough decisions from the brief glance on Sky.

Poor performance from Aberdeen today.

Might have got away with it had we not run into the one ref in a million who gives a penalty for standard jostling at a corner, but don't have any major complaints with the outcome.

And Traynor spent an awful lot of time sucking David Murray's cock for a Celtic fan.

It's hard to read too much into the figures.

You'd expect Dundee and County to be getting bigger crowds since they are now in the SPL.

Aberdeen and Hibs are up becasue the teams are doing decently after being terrible last season.

Shows what a shit club ICT are that they are having the best season they've ever had (and probably will ever have) and their crowds are still shit.

That big a drop will cost Celtic a few million if it continues over the whole season.

http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...-legal-action-over-rangers-contract-transfer/

Heap of players suing 'Rangers' over the transfer (or non-transfer) of their contracts from oldco to newco.

Fair chance of the players being successful, because the TUPE regulations are very much weighted in favour of the employee.
Something weird seems to be happening here.

The SPFA seems to have raised the action without actually consulting the players they are supposedly acting on behalf of.

A number of the players don't seem to want to have anything to do with it and others have said they will waive the right to any compensation they are awarded.

'Rangers' have also made counter-claims against the players that walked away in the summer (Whittaker, Naismith et al).

Anyway, far more importantly, a fantastic win for Aberdeen tonight.

Seems to have been deserved according to most reports.

Second year in a row we've won at 2-1 Fir Park in the cup.

Would be a good result at any time, but to win with the injuries we've got just now is a great effort.

Tonight's team:

Langfield

Considine-Reynolds-Robertson

Shaughnessy--Vernon-Rae--Magennis

Hayes-Fallon-McGinn

What would be regarded as our strongest team with everyone fit:

Langfield

Jack-Anderson-Reynolds-Considine

Osbourne-Rae

Hayes---Hughes---McGinn

Vernon

Away to Hibs in the next round.

Hope the kickoff isn't at too stupid a time, because I'd expect a huge Dons support to head down for this. We'll most probably sell the whole end, which is somewhere around 3,500, I think.

Seems we really gave them a hiding last night, judging by the fact that McCall (hun cunt) admits we deserved to win.

And Hayes, apparently, tore Hately (hun cunt) a new one.

:)

Worst performance of the season on Saturday, I reckon.

No plan, no urgency, no danger of us creating a chance.

Game was again decided by a decidedly iffy penalty call. Didn't have a problem with it at the time, but didn't have a good view. Replays suggest it was probably a dive and Aberdeen have appealed against the resulting red card.

The 3-4-3/5-4-1 needs to be ditched for home games.

It can only work as a counter-attacking system, but the coach tries to control the game with it at home, with disasterous consequences.

Also fed up of Vernon playing in midfield.

Not going to criticise him for the poor displays because he's a CF, but it's not working.

Get one of the young CMs in there, or play one of the CBs.

Kenny Clark, former ref, confirmed what was already known/suspected when on the radio last night.

He admitted that he resented having to referee games at Pittodrie because of the inconvenience of traveling from the central belt.

Always thought that played a part in the refs consistently choosing to fuck us over when playing non-Old Firm teasm who they had no real reason to favour.

You'd think the arsehole refs might just about manage to drive three hours up here without being overly put out when being paid £800 per game plus expenses to do something they supposedly enjoy doing.

Cunts.
