Yeah.

Very quick, very direct and gets stuck in.

At his best playing from a flank with the freedom to drift inside and get involved in the play.

Aberdeen should have kept him to rotate with Hayes and Fraser on the flanks, particularly given McGinn's injury.

Man, you should see Partizan stadium.

We're big club with great tradition, won numbers of titles, played in CL final, have outstanding youth, and...

We're playing on 35k seats stadium which is like 70% empty.

Stadium, of course, have running tracks so fans can't have huge impact on the game.

They probably bought that on 99% discount.
:D

More encouraging signs from the 0-0 draw with Hearts.

We're controlling the game and getting into good positions, but not getting the final touch, largely due to the lack of numbers and appropriate movement in the box.

It's taking time to make the adjustment because we've only tended to use 4-3-3/4-5-1 as a defensive system in the past, so it's taking the players time to understand how to use it to attack.

Main issue is that Vernon is tending to be isolated in the box when crosses come in, which means it needs great movement or a great cross to get a goal.

The winger on the opposite side and the most advanced of the midfield three need to do more to get themselves into the box when these crosses are coming in.

Following this afternoon's monthly Board meeting at Pittodrie Stadium, the Dons have confirmed they will use the next few weeks to investigate the options the Club has for its new home following last Wednesday's 'no' vote for the training facilities at Calder Park by Aberdeen City Council.

Dons Vice Chairman George Yule commented. "The Board agreed unanimously that the sensible way forward is for us to explore all realistic options available and that will include sitting down with both of the councils, City and Shire, to determine exactly what the current position is in terms of availability of suitable sites.

"Given the way matters have panned out, we have a significant amount of work to be undertaken and when all the initial due diligence of the alternative options have been carried out, and only after that period, will AFC be in a position to form a more definitive view of what the future is likely to hold for us in regard to stadium re-location opportunities.

"I can also confirm that since last week's vote we have received a number of unsolicited, but nevertheless welcome approaches from local private landowners wishing to assist the Club in its quest for a new stadium and while I am not in a position to be specific as to their locations at this point, I can assure our supporters that each of them will be fully considered on its merits and any decisions taken will be done in the best interests of AFC, our staff and our supporters.

"As I said last week, these are extremely challenging times for Scottish football and the stadium issue is yet another hurdle for us to overcome. However, everybody connected with the Club is absolutely resolved to ensuring the long term prosperity of AFC and, one way or another, that is something I'm confident we'll achieve going forward"

Clear as mud...

At least it's a rather more considered statement than those made around the meeting of the Council.

Still think it's all posturing before a compromise is reached on the old site.

Too much time and money has been invested on the Loirston project to just walk away from it.

Surprises in the League Cup tonight.

Raith, QotS and Stenhousemuir all putting out SPL opposition.

Ordinarily I'm pleased when other SPL teams go out, but Aberdeen have had traumatic cup experiences against all three of those sides.

:scared:

Nice 2-0 win away to Viking Stavanger tonight with a second string.

Goals from Jordan Brown and Cammy Smith.

Returns from injury for Masson and Robertson.

Cammy Smith was just about the only impressive AFC youth player last time I saw them play.

SS/No.10 type with good awareness and a nice touch.

Aberdeen finally got rid of Michael Paton. :weee:

The guy has done absolutely fuck all for two years and I caught him taking cocaine in a casino.

Good riddance.

Whinging faced prick.

He developed into an alright player late in his career.

When he was younger he was really fast, acted like a headless chicken and had woeful technique.

Robson is a good player.

Should have got more Scotland caps than he did.

Boyd is a fat waster.

Knows where the goal is though, and used to score zillions against shit teams.

In all his years at Rangers and for all the goals he scored, he never scored from open play against Celtic or away to Aberdeen or Hearts - Rangers four hardest fixtures in a normal season.

Third 0-0 home draw of the season on Saturday.

Could start to get a tad frustrating soon, given that we are playing the best football we have in ages.

Just hope Brown sticks with things more or less as they are and doesn't go altering the system just because we aren't taking the chances that are created.

---------- Post added 03.09.2012 at 00:08 ----------

Self-proclaimed passers St Mirren were outpassed, out-thought and outfought but held on...

Unusually accurate comment from the BBC.

Ryan Fraser becoming a marked man. Teams are now targeting him. Fortunately he's a tough kid and doesn't complain, but you can only take that sort of punishment for so long before you really get hurt.

Aberdeen have appealed Anderson's red card, since he clearly got the ball.

Great that Cammy Smith got his first goal.

Interesting player - a number ten - not the sort of player Scotland produced many of.

Was the best Aberdeen player by miles last time I saw the youth team play.

Fraser looks decent, but a bit of a shame that any good dribblers just get kicked out the game in Scotland.

Good time for St Johnstone to get a much needed win against Celtic on Saturday. Pawlett played a good game again.

Pleased to see St Johnstone win.

Keeps the folk who predicted Celtic would win every other game quiet for a while longer.

There has never been any question in my mind (or in the minds of the vast majority of Dons fans) that Pawlett is a very good player.

Just have to hope he's over his injury problems.

Yeah he's looked good so far, St. Johnstone have badly needed a decent wide player for a few seasons. Sure Aberdeen will want him back in January if he can keep it going.
