roads should be fine mate, we had a lot of snow but it is melting today. tynecastle always has a very good surface and it is very rare for a game there to get called off.
our lack of CB's should not be a problem as Karapidis is immense and he will guide young Eggert through, but JC will almost certainly try to get Lee Miller to "rough up" Johnnson as he is nowhere near physical enough to be a regular CB
what do you make of the St Mirren row? their manager and chairman are coming out with some strong words regarding Hearts and IMHO they are way out of line. a scottish cup replay should be on a tue or wed, they have taken the money that SKY are offering without consulting Hearts and expecting us to push back the fixture 24 hours. we have sold tickets,booked security,etc and to expect us to change so that they can chase the cash 10 days before the game was unrealistic

Aberdeen were in the same position as St. Mirren a couple of years ago. We played Hibs in a replay on a Thursday night then at Motherwell on the Saturday (fortunately the game was off due to the weather, so we got and rest and Motherwell got screwed financially.

To be honest, I can see it from both teams perspective and I think the teams need to get together and come to some sort of agreement as to what is to happen in these cases.
Hearts are certainly well within their rights to refuse to move the game and I'm sure most teams would do exactly the same thing.

well andy, your team started the day well and scored a very good goal but Calderwoods tactics lost you the midfield battle and,inevitably, the game.
on a side note, there were a lot of dons players going down in the box a little too easily, plus when Ballogh kicked the ball out for an injured Dons player we did expect to get the ball back.
all in all i feel we dserved the victory but the cavalry charge at the end did have me shifting uncomfortably in my seat

Hearts deserved to win.

The big thing was that Driver switched sides. He moved away from Foster, who had him in his back pocket at Pittodrie, to play against Mulgrew. Mulgrew is a fine footballer, but his defending is always suspect.
When Calderwood did nothing at all (not even getting the LM to protect Mulgrew), Hearts were always going to cause us problems.
Mackie's goal, if it is as good as it looked at the time, is right uo there with the best goals I've seen Aberdeen score. Mind you, Mackie was probably trying to control it and just smashed it in the top corner by accident.
Anyway, you are always going to lose to direct rivals now and again. As long long as we beat United at Pittodrie next weekend, there isn't much damage done, but Tango has a God awful record against Levein.

in all honesty the mackie goal was an absolute cracker, there have been a lot of good goals scored at Tynecastle this season and that is one of the best, cracking ball,great finish. defensively i feel we could have dealt with it better but then you can say that about our first goal.
like to know what your point of view was on our first? great ball and knock-down but i get the feeling that JC will be raging with the marking.

Every goal is avoidable.
Seeing Aberdeen's goal again, I think it was the 'keeper's fault.
It was a decent ball and a good run by Mackie (and Mackie's quick enough the defenders won't get the chance to recover), but Mackie was almost on the penalty spot when he volleyed it.
The 'keeper should come for a ball that has gone 60 yards through the air that is comfortably into the penalty area.

i thought that at the time but also felt that the CB pairing were caught out as well, we all know Mackie is fast but Kari was out of position(only thing he did wrong all day though) and Eggert was napping(but he is not a natural CB)

There is always an excuse for bad results and it is never, ever, his fault.
This week he claimed the team lacked experience. I would say that only two of Aberdeen's starting XI haven't made 50 SPL appearances. And even if they did lack experience, it's his team and he didn't buy experienced players in the summer.
